I am overwhelmed with your love.....( updated after our visit with Jasper )

We have been to see our sweet darling boy and he is so ill, the tears are flowing from us both. No purrs, no hugs , just didn't want to be held or fussed. The vet nurse is looking after him but said he is not interested in eating or anything really. The drip hopefully will help and the meds. I asked if he was in pain and she said he is comfortable but will be feeling poorly and just wanting to be quiet. We would have given anything for a purr. We told him over and over that we we had left him there to get well so he could come home to us. I hope he understood. Our poorly boy..It shows so much in his face...

We hugged him and spoke to him but he didn't want hugs....

This morning's post below....

A few years old but always my favourite picture......
Firstly I just have to say that Barrie and I are completely overwhelmed at the love that is pouring in for our sweet boy.100 comments .We opened the blog and the sight was so comforting to us. I have said many times before on here that I was so blessed to have found blogging life and all the friends we have made. I count each and everyone of you as friends and more. I have made friends that will last forever. The tears were flowing freely and still are. THANK YOU ALL xxx
Another beautiful thing is that some of you beautiful people offered to do fundraising for the vet treatment. Thank you so much but that wont be necessary, yes the treatment is going to run into hundreds of pounds but we will weather that and have backup to use,we said to do whatever is needed so long as it helps.. There are so many friends out there that need our help and I would never detract from them and will continue to help them in any way I can as I always try to do.A thank you is not enough for your offer to help.. Not enough at all but I do thank you from the bottom of my heart..
Now for our news from the vet. I spoke to Sue our vet this morning and again the tears were flowing. Sue told me that she is convinced now that we are dealing with a double wammy and that the heart is a significant problem. They are getting fluids in but have to do it slowly so as not to cause further heart problems, they have started medication for the heart but have to be very careful so as not to push the kidneys into further renal failure but need to bring the rapid heart rate down. Sue said she thought there was a slight improvement in that Jasper is a little more alert and purring for them, he is to stay again tonight while they continue the treatment and then more blood tests tomorrow to check his kidney function. We are permitted to go late this afternoon to visit Jasper and they want us to take some of his favourite food in to temp him to eat on his own a little. We cant wait. The news of a double wammy was a real blow to us. We will give him every chance but wont let him suffer if it wont help. We just pray it will help.
For you continued support, love, friendship, advice and prayers we thank you from the bottom of our hearts... Much love to all.... Carol and Barrie .. Will update when we have been to see Jasper today...

We are thinking of you and our dear friend GJ - we are so worried about him but that is nothing compared to how you will both be feeling. We are sorry GJ's heart and kidneys are affected but we are sure he will pull through with your love and the care of your vets.
We know you won't let him suffer unnecessarily and that is the kindest gift of all.

Sending more healing purrs to GJ and paws are crossed you have a good visit with him. We knows you will do all in your power for GJ and will choose the best path for him.

We are so sorry that GJ is having to deal with both heart and kidney problems and hope the vet can get the two separate issues under control soon.

The first thing we did when we opened the computer this morning was to look for a post from you. GJ is so beloved in the cat blogosphere and we wish him only comfort and love from you, his dear humans. We hope the vet can now treat his heart and his kidneys and that he will feel like eating some, and can come home to you where he will most likely be happier about eating. Purrs and prayers.

Oh Carol and Barrie. :-( I am so so sorry. But the tiny ray of hope is that lovely GJ is purring and a little more alert. I think that's something to hang onto! He is a fighter! This is so sad though, so sad. Take one day, one treatment at a time and hope, hope, hope!

Hugs and love, x

I understand completely. When Skeeter had his troubled times in late 2008, I received so many kind messages and offers of help. I cherished that.

But I also had the funds to take care of Skeeter his last months and knew other kitties needed the financial support of the CB more than I did.

The offer is wonderful, but the needs of other Beins is greater. I know where you are coming from on this.

But rest assured that I and the cats here are purring and hoping for GJ every day. Ayla, Iza, and Marley know of and love GJ. We hope the best for him.

But we know when things are bad. We are all hoping and purring GJ gets better, but we also know how serious it is.

Our best hopes and purrs for him and for you.

I had a restless night last night and all I could think about was GJ. He is juch a beautiful cat and so loving and faithful. I do feel for you as when we were told my cat Tabitha was diabetic we wondered how we were going to cope but we loved her so much that doing the injections everyday was hard at first but we soon learned the knack. She was a great comfort to me when my hubby passed away.
Ginger Jasper is so much loved through blogsphere land and I know everyone wishes him well and you and Barrie the strength to deal with his illness.
God Bless you all.
Yvonne.

We dropped by from Maggie Mae's to tell you that we will have Ginger Jasper in our prayers. It's so hard to see those we love and care about suffer and feel badly. A year ago, our Blueberry had a run of bad luck, and we know how wonderful it is to have others' support!

Rumblemum here...You know that GJ is one of my special blog boys, and I think of you often and hope that the news is getting better. I'm hoping so, so hard that GJ feels better, and that he can feel all the love that the CB has for him (and for you guys as well, I know how hard this is)
