The dreaded vet......feeling blue...

Hello everyone, well today has not been a good day at all. For a while now mum and dad have been worried because I have been losing weight . I have not been eating properly despite them buying me everything tempting they could. I have been still playing and not hiding away so they were hoping I would get my appetite back. the weight loss was beginning to show and I am looking and feeling bony. Mum and dad said enough we need to check this out. Mum phoned and got me in to see the vet today. That I can tell you was not pleasant at all. I was prodded and poked, had the awful temperature taker put where the sun don't shine. I have would you believe a broken tooth,[ how after having lots out recently I don't know. ] The vet thinks that is not the cause. I was weighed and have lost well over half a kilo which is just not good. The vet then got the nurse to hold me and shaved under my chin. It had just grown back as well. They then stuck me and stole my bloods for testing. They will look for pancreatic disease as that is what the vet suspects. mum Will get the results tomorrow and they will take it from there. If it doesn't show and it maybe wont they do a bigger blood test just for that. Sheesh I hope not. Please think of me and maybe send some purrs and woofs that they find whats wrong and it can be fixed because mum and dad are worried. Hugs to all GJ xx

Oh Ginger J, we didn't know until just now that you have been feeling a bit "blue", losing some weight, and had a trip to the Vet today. (I haven't been getting around to all the bloggies in recent days.)

"Old Kitty" and Charlie stopped by Kittens 'n Things and left a post and then she mentioned your latest V trip.

"The Boys" and I are certainly sending along some good thoughts and extra purryers for you and your mum and dad.

Don't worry GP, I was had a cat who had the same symptoms as you, Tabitha(my cat) had diabetes, which with treatment was ok, so she had to have different kind of food to eat but she led a normal life, it may not be the same as my cat but something quite simple, I bet it wasn't nice having all those things done but they are for your own good.
I hope the results are good, have plenty of rest and take care of yourself.

Yvonne.

I am sorry you are feeling ill Ginger! I am a regular visitor but have not commented before. My sweet Madison had something very much like what you describe. She lost over 2 lbs and had only weigh 8lbs in the beginning. We went through all the tests and she got sicker and sicker on meds. Then I took her to a different vet and she suggested vitamin b12 shots. In two weeks Madison was off all of the medication and eating very good. I give her a shot every two to three weeks and she has been healthy ever since. I don't know if Ginger has the same thing but you might want to ask your vet about vitamin b12 for ginger. Thank you for your great blog! I am sending love and light Ginger's way for a speedy recovery! Cheri
