A very special show with very special people.....

Late on Thursday evening a friend sent me a message asking if we could do a huge favour and take some photo's for her. Mel is a carer for special needs adults and she and a fellow carer had been putting together a show for these very talented people. I did say its very short notice as the show was the next day but would see what we could do. We went along and despite being given the wrong time so we just got the start of the show, we did our best. The lighting was awful for photo's and we were not stood in an ideal place. None of that mattered in the end. What wonderful people, all with very varied special needs but all with so much enthusiasm and joy. A veritable joy to watch and to take pictures of. Here are a few of the wonderful people. Still pictures don't do them justice but will give you an idea.

Blogger was uploading awful for me so these are in all the wrong order too.
This was at the end and some of the carers had just come on stage. Look at the beautiful lady in the wheelchair and the joy on her face..
Just lovely to see this act..
Right at the end. Mel is the carer in black. She said all the hard work was so worth while.
                                                  You did it....
Yes they had a dream and it came true..

This young man did so well and so serious faced.
This young lady can barely walk and had to be helped on stage. She used two chairs to help her stand. She shone though in her song. Look at her face..
                                          A little help getting on...

This young lady sang Amazing Grace from the heart with no music and was amazing.
                                         Dancing a Bollywood number...

Her song was gorgeous and she so loved her dress.

What a beautiful young woman and she can sing..
                                               Spice girls..

The gentleman on the right is a carer and joined in with lots of acts plus was the compare..
The lady in the wheelchair was able to join in and the carer twirled her round to the music. Look at happy face..

This young lady moved me to tears and I suspect many in the audience. She read out a poem depicting her life. It was called THINKING. Basically she was saying she cant function properly because her brain is always in overdrive thinking.
                    So talented....

This lady rocked her song. Beautiful...

These two did a scene from a song where she waits for her beau to come and take her dancing. Again in the wrong order. But still shows you..

This sweet lady cant see but so enjoyed singing her song...
Will you look at the sheer happiness on this gorgeous girl who was the lead singer in this group..
We went to this show not knowing what to expect. It was wonderful and made a lasting impression on both Barrie and I. Simply wonderful. We spoke to carers afterwards who sais its our first show and we will try to get more things right next time. I simply said you did everything right this time. One carer said if you show kindness, time and love then anything can be achieved. She is so right.
Hope you enjoyed a preview of the show. To morrow we drive across the Pennines to attend Alexis's christening. Pictures to follow of the greats when we return.

These are talented people. So happy that they're in a good situation and that you and the carers could assist in making this a joyous occasion for all.
