Birthday magic...Baby update...

Sunday evening and we had visitors bearing gifts for my birthday today.. This week has world book day on Thursday and Lilli is going as Hermine from Harry Potter. I though she looked rather splendid in her costume which she had worn to show me..

Mollie and Lilli. I think Mollie is humouring grandma for the camera lol
Of course granddad Barrie got in on the Harry Potter glasses. He gets worse lol
Of course a birthday hug for his mum..
                                              Lilli as Hermine
The real one. Not bad likeness I think..

Now a update on my newest arrival. Alexis is responding to the antibiotics and doing well. It was Alexis with the infection and not her mum Jade.

Big brother Nicholas is so proud of his new sister..
Bless her with the drip for antibiotics..
So gentle and looks like a little doll..
Of course I am sure my boy will be watching over me for my birthday...
I am feeling much better today so the bug that ailed me must have passed thankfully as on nights the next few.

Early morning call..

Last night I was on nights and what a flipping night with not even time for a break. I was so happy to see my bed as all the shifts in the last few days have been the same. Just a hour in to my sleep I got a call to say my new great granddaughter was at last on her way. There have been so many problems throughout so it was good news indeed. I tried to catch a little more sleep but just couldn't and then the news she was here. Alexi. Very beautiful. We set off on the two hour drive to see her and would you believe I had a stomach upset all the way. We of course snapped many photo's and here are just a few.

Jade my granddaughter was in labour for quite a while. On Wed night she called while I was at work and said her waters had gone and she was 4 cm. I thought Alexis would be here by morning but no the labour stopped. I was so cross in the fact that they did nothing but monitored and left her with no waters and 4cm. Open to infection. This morning they put her on a drip and speeded things up. Alexis was born. Jade had to stay in hospital while they monitored close because of the risk of infection. While we were there the doctor confirmed that indeed she had a infection and she is currently on a antibiotic drip and heat laps around her. Why do they take these risks. The antibiotics should sort it out and they are at least monitoring closely.
Then on the way back my stomach decided it was really not happy and I spent the journey with my head in a bag. I am still felling ropey and will go up to bed very shortly.
It was so worth getting woke up for.   Welcome to the world Alexis. xxx

Forgotten treasure...

Some time ago I had taken a SD card from my camera and put to one side. I needed a card the other day and popped it in and look who was on there. Forgotten treasure indeed.

                                             He had spotted a bag..

                                        Ever the nosey boy..

Then on Thursday night at the start of the sunset we had briefly blue sky. It didn't last long before the rain was back but it was so welcome..

I loved finding those photo's. Very Much ..Hugs Carol x

Happy Heart Day ....

Hello everyone, not had much chance at all to be on line as we are mega busy both at work and at home. We are busy decorating our living room ready for a new suite, carpet and unit. We have everything from the unit packed into boxes. Work has been so busy with so many falling and the weather atrocious for getting around in. On Wednesday I went out on my first call at 07:30 and got back into base at 15:15. It was one to the other. My last call was a lady of 90 years young who had fallen in her garden after taking the rubbish out, she was lying outside in the howling wind and pouring rain for around 30 mins. I was able to get her up and warmed up hopefully averting a really bad outcome. Its these calls that make it all worthwhile.
I am sorry I haven't been visiting friends blogs but I will make it up when things calm down. In the meantime........      Happy Heart day everyone and I hope you all have some love in your life.

                                  A beautiful flashback..

A bit of a mix .....

First of all its our gorgeous great granddaughter Alivia's 2nd birthday, she has come on so much the past couple months. I could not believe the difference in her when I went this week. Just since December she is now chattering on and runs about everywhere. She is adorable. They had a party at their house but I couldn't get there as on nights so that's why I went on Thursday. Just look at the delight on her face when she sees Minnie Mouse arriving at her house. I wish I could have seen that.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY  darling Alivia....
Now some other photo's from Malta. Hope you like seeing them.

We wondered why on most churches and buildings there was two clocks and a local told us why..  One gives the correct time  for worshippers and the other gives the wrong time  to confuse the devil.

                                                   Loved this bus ...

Malta was very heavily bombed during the war and suffered greatly. They have many monuments honouring the fallen and they are looked after and tended well.

More of the lovely close together buildings. We loved the old buildings...

As well as the beautiful Mdena glass that Malta is famous for they are also famous for the beautiful silver filigree jewellery, its stunning and we looked for ages at it. Yes Barrie did get me a bracelet for my birthday at the end of the month but it has gone to the birthday fairy so I don't get it yet.
                           Again on every corner.

I told you about Nosta Dome where the bomb went through the dome and didn't explode. The beautiful cathedral in Valletta wasn't so lucky. many hundreds used to shelter beneath the building and it was bombed heavily  killing so many.
We were looking around the cathedral and being very quiet so as not to disturb when a old gentleman approached us. He told us about the bombing and then took us on a tour of the building. Round the back he showed us pictures of the devastation caused by the bombing. He was so very proud of the cathedral and its history and rightly so.

Outside later we saw the building with the start of a lovely sun set lighting it up.

While we were there we found the most delightful restaurant were the food was wonderful. The decor delightful and the owners so welcoming.

This must be the tiniest chapel and so serene.
                     More in the restaurant
                                                  Cheers..
On the way home a sunset to guide us..

Hoped you liked seeing more of Malta..
                                                     Hugs to all....
