A bit of a mix .....

First of all its our gorgeous great granddaughter Alivia's 2nd birthday, she has come on so much the past couple months. I could not believe the difference in her when I went this week. Just since December she is now chattering on and runs about everywhere. She is adorable. They had a party at their house but I couldn't get there as on nights so that's why I went on Thursday. Just look at the delight on her face when she sees Minnie Mouse arriving at her house. I wish I could have seen that.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY  darling Alivia....
Now some other photo's from Malta. Hope you like seeing them.

We wondered why on most churches and buildings there was two clocks and a local told us why..  One gives the correct time  for worshippers and the other gives the wrong time  to confuse the devil.

                                                   Loved this bus ...

Malta was very heavily bombed during the war and suffered greatly. They have many monuments honouring the fallen and they are looked after and tended well.

More of the lovely close together buildings. We loved the old buildings...

As well as the beautiful Mdena glass that Malta is famous for they are also famous for the beautiful silver filigree jewellery, its stunning and we looked for ages at it. Yes Barrie did get me a bracelet for my birthday at the end of the month but it has gone to the birthday fairy so I don't get it yet.
                           Again on every corner.

I told you about Nosta Dome where the bomb went through the dome and didn't explode. The beautiful cathedral in Valletta wasn't so lucky. many hundreds used to shelter beneath the building and it was bombed heavily  killing so many.
We were looking around the cathedral and being very quiet so as not to disturb when a old gentleman approached us. He told us about the bombing and then took us on a tour of the building. Round the back he showed us pictures of the devastation caused by the bombing. He was so very proud of the cathedral and its history and rightly so.

Outside later we saw the building with the start of a lovely sun set lighting it up.

While we were there we found the most delightful restaurant were the food was wonderful. The decor delightful and the owners so welcoming.

This must be the tiniest chapel and so serene.
                     More in the restaurant
                                                  Cheers..
On the way home a sunset to guide us..

Hoped you liked seeing more of Malta..
                                                     Hugs to all....

My human always is so sad when she hears of beautiful old places being bombed in the war. She is glad so much beauty still stands in Malta.

It is very peaceful and we think if our human was not so afraid of flying, she would enjoy going there. We also noticed that there were not many people in the streets in the pictures and we wondered why that is. Alivia is very cute and charming.
