Our tribute : Farewell our beautiful sweet boy xxxxx

Where do I start.. I have shed so many tears while trying to do this post but felt  must try and get it together in tribute to our beautiful, sweet gentle boy..
I started the blog in September 2008 at the suggestion of my daughter in law who blogged with Ben the Rotti, she thought it would help me as  was at a low period but little did I know it would become a huge part of our lives and that we would make so many wonderful friends who would share in all our lives ups and downs. You are all wonderful. I know our Jasper touched so many and was loved by so many. Barrie  and I are blown away with so many comments  on the news of his leaving us. I will get to each and every one of you in thanks. You all understand so well..

First post 30.9.2008

Hello, Ginger Jasper here. I am new to this so you will have to bear with me please. I am a very lovable Ginger, ( or Persian red to give my posh title) I have a posh name too Tiny Tots Caramar Toffee to be exact. I prefer Jasper. Better don’t you think? I just got into this blogging to maybe meet other likeable cats. I will keep this short for now and see what happens next. Love from me Ginger Jasper. xxx
Jasper when he first came to me. He was so adorable and stayed the same always..

My Dollie cat hated him when he first arrived but he soon had her won over...

When I moved in with Barrie he was not a cat person.. Jasper changed that quick smart and they became as close as can be. They did so much together.
From just relaxing together..

Hunting for bugs in the yard..
  Conversations..
  A game of smacky paw..
  Turbo track fun ..

  Of course manly hugs....

Jasper always loved being with the little beans and was always gentle..

He adored being in the yard with us either on his garage roof surveying his kingdom or sunbathing on the garden seat or his favourite pastime chasing bugs.

During the years we have been blogging we have met quite a few blog friends along with flat Jasper. We have made lifelong friends..

Jasper joined in all the events in the blogosphere. We laughed with friends and we cried with friends. We tried to join in all events and had a lot of fun along the way..

Two years ago this month( November) Jasper got very ill with renal and heart failure. We were told that they didn't think he would last until Christmas. They didn't count on the power of the paw or on the love and dedication that pulled him through and gave us two more years.
Barrie lovingly gave him so much care with daily medication and love and hope.
Many times feeding from a spoon to get him to eat..

 When he was so ill..
 Medication time...
We have so many things with Jasper on around the house. Pictures, paintings, jewellery, cushions. Here are just a few We treasure each and every one..
I got this one for Barrie as a surprise the Christmas when Jasper was so ill. I was so thankful he was there to help open it..

A few of my favourite pictures..

We loved watching him take the food from a dish and eat from his paw..

I said many times  I wanted to bottle this and all the purrs .. I wish....

Jasper always  wanted to be close to us and would sit either on us or as close as could be. When I came in from work he would be there and into my arms and climbing on to my neck before I even got my coat off. He would watch for me coming home..

I loved sending and receiving cards and joined in both with CWB and DWB card exchange. This is Jaspers wall. How I will miss his door and wall full of cards this year

We are going to miss all this so much. Our house is now so empty..
I hope I did justice with this post to our sweet boy.. We have so many memories and wanted to share just a few.. I cant give up the blog because you all mean so much, and when I feel more up to it will post about something and everything if that ok. Please keep me in the loop about everything and I will visit you all soon.

Our darling GJ x
With love, hugs and thanks for all the caring.. I am convinced that the power of the paw helped our sweet boy stay with us for two more magical years.

                                         Carol and Barrie    xxxx

That was such a beautiful tribute and we could feel the love. We know how much it hurts, but just try to remember that GJ would not want the pain for you. We all loved your boy so much and we always will. Love and hugs dear friends. May the happy memories bring smiles to your hearts.

Dear Carol and Barrie, I can barely type through the tears. Such a beautiful tribute to a truly wonderful boy ~ we love him so very much and he will always have a place in our hearts.
I still have the beautiful Christmas cards you sent us with GJ's photo on ~ and treasure them. I hope you still send cards with him on this year.
I do understand how painful it is to lose him ~ I still grieve for Henry who died in 2004. The pain gets easier, you learn to live with it, but it never entirely goes away. There will always be days when you cry ~ I still cry for all the animals I've loved and lost to the Bridge.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful boy with us all via his blog. Thank you for loving him so very much and giving him the wonderful life he deserved. If only all cats were so lucky.(((((hugs)))))

Love Jan. xxxxxxxxxxxxx
PURRS from Milo and Alfie too.

Still cant believe Jasper is gone. No words can ease the pain and loss you are both feeling but maybe you can take some comfort in knowing he touched the hearts of so many, even those that never met him. He will always have a special place in your hearts. Maxine xxx

I do not want to feel sad, or feel loss ... but rather feel blessed and joyful to have shared in so many of these memories. Jasper was without question a very special friend and we will miss his being a part of our daily life, yet know that in the most important way of all he remains with us ~ through love in our heart.

What an amazing tribute to our furriend, GJ. Looking at all the photos made us realize how truly special he was. The kitten ones were adorable!

We know it's hard, but as you said, two more years were treasured years and I'm so glad you both had him a little longer.

Take care and know that he hasn't gone far, just is around you in a different way, your love keeping him forever close.

We love you very much and we're sending as many purrs as we can to you and Barrie because our Mom told us how devastating it is to lose a sweet kitty.

That was a wonderful tribute to GJ and I know you both loved him very much. I'm sure you have a million happy memories of him and things that he did and you'll smile when you think of some of his antics.
You were our first Secret Paw and among all the lovely things there was a pale pink super soft blankie. It is placed on the bed everyday and hardly a day goes by without getting a visitor ready for a nap.
Take care.

What a loving and sweet tribute to one very special cat in your life and the lives of so many of your friends. We didn't know of Ginger until the last few months sadly - we do wish we'd known you for MUCH longer. He was such a gorgeous cat and as our Sam is ginger - we all know that "gingers stick together" ! I loved his freckles...his facial expressions....and I'm sure you're right that your love was the power that kept him here longer than anyone thought. Everyone will tell you that he's still with you....well, he is...but I know you'd much prefer a hug for real. Believe me I do.

Hugs from Sammy and me

That's such a wonderful, heartfelt and deeply loving tribute to GJ. It surprises us a bit that Barrie wasn't a cat person, because we've always seen the love he has for Jasper in your photos. How wonderful that Jasper gave him that gift--the appreciation of and love for a cat.

We're continuing to send purrs and purrayers and universal Light--absolutely keep blogging, about whatever you want or need to.

How utterly wonderful to see so much of your darling boy all in one post. I never realized (though I should have) that GJ was a pedigreed boy with a fancy name and everything! Goes to show you never know everything about someone.

I'm still broken up that GJ is gone, though knowing how close he loved to be with you I'd bet his spirit will be around. I see my beloved Dusty occasionally--I'm serious. I truly believe that as long as your pets are in your heart, they linger in your love.

I'm so happy you have decided to continue blogging, I'd miss seeing your 40's events, and vacations, and watching your family grow up. Carol and Barrie, my love to you and the best purrs from all of us at the Lounge.
