A few of mum and dads 40's weekend plus little old me......

Mum asked me could she show you some photo's from their 40's weekend away. I said she could so long as she added me too.

These two were waiting for the parade and happy to pose...

                                                   He loved the attention...
But was afraid dad would take him away from his dad...
The gentleman on the right goes every year and wears his own medals from the war with pride..
With his lovely wife of 63 years who wears her dads medals from the first and second world war, he came through the first world war and was killed in the second one in the blitz.
Fun with two young ones joining in..
                                                         Dad too...

These two were snug from the rain in their stroller...

Our friends Coco and Nugget with their poppy..

This lady is one of the singers...
This little lad was collecting for help the hero's and was happily putting the coins in his collection tin with glee..

Of course I am the best of all...

Hope you enjoyed a few of mum and dads pictures...
Love and hugs to all... GJ xx

Wow, your humans have so much fun at these events, GJ! My human wishes there were 20s weekends in Los Angeles - there is a great film history here, and it really flourished in that particular decade.

Wonderful, wonderful post! Our mum would love to participate! The older gent wearing his real medals made us all misty eyes. God bless him for
his service. Your mum looks so
beautiful. She really does the whole
40' s look perfectly. And your dad
looks dashing, as always.
We would LOVE to see more of the
photos. We'd like to see where our
kitty ancestors did their part for the
war effort by keeping the rodent
population down and preserving the
food stores for our fighting men. Our
contributions are usually overlooked
but then, we tend to be more modest
and less boastful than dogs.

great pics. What's with all the WWII theme? Is it an anniversary this year? Or is this your hobby?

Great photos. It is amazing how much attention goes into making each costume authentic looking. We are pretty sure there were gorgeous floofy kitties like you in the forties, GJ. Mum should make you a proper costume and take you with!

Some excellent photographs there, Ginger Jasper. It looks like people go all out for their '40s weekends. But of course, a collection of pictures is nothing without your handsome self to see.

GJ, I LOVE the pictures your mom and dad share with us when they do this each year. My mom LOVES things from WWll and she said she looks forward to seeing your mom and dad and anyone else they take pictures of. Makes her WEEK! They both look so good and so authentic. The children...oh my goodness, what a wonderful glimpse of the past they too muct have been for some of the older folks there. The couple you showed us in which he was wearing his own medals and his sweet wife those which her father had won..just the best! THaNK you! I look forward to these each year,
