Look who came to visit.......

You will never guess what happened today. My good friend Nellie is on a run away tour and is in the UK at the moment. Nellie went to see Speedy who has just had eye surgery and decided she could fit in a quick visit to see me. I was so pleased and watched out of my window waiting for her.
Here she is now..  Hello Nellie...... I am so happy to see you...
Nellie had a drink of cool cat milk to refresh after her journey and nibbled on some prawns and fresh salmon. We the walked in my yard and I showed her my lovely flowers..  We sat and just chatted about all our friends and before we knew it was time for Nellie to be on her way. We had so enjoyed the visit..  Safe journey Nellie... Come back soon...
You can read all about Nellie's journey Here Pop over and see it all..

My vet visit for today..The vet checked me over and listened to what mum had to say. The diagnosis is definitely dementia and when mum asked was I in pain he said in his opinion  no I wasn't at all it was just the dementia that was making me yell out. The medicine is helping somewhat and I am using the new litter tray near the door and ignoring all the other one's. Mum and dad discussed the options with the vet and they said so long as I was happy and so long I had quality of life  and no pain then they would keep on with what we are doing with the meds and just let me plod on and enjoy life  as I want. Quality of life is the utmost important thing.

Love and hugs to everyone.. GJ xx

GJ, getting old is a challenge, isn't it? The WDA understands. Being a bit forgetful and losing your place doesn't that life isn't still worth living and enjoying. Let us reassure mum and dad that you still have LOTS of love left to give. There is no pain just some confusion and with their caring support you can still be happy. They will know when that changes.

Sounds like a good report, GJ. Angel Princess and Angel Kitty Wink both yelled out like that, but eventually Mommy finally found things (her robe, extra nighlights) that helped. Good luck! XOXO

We think you have a very sensible vet GJ. My vet said mum would know when her girl Puss had had enough, and Puss became very sad and unhappy at the end. The vet was right, mum knew when it was time.

So we hope you get to enjoy lots of time together.

How fun to have a visitor! I am so very happy to hear that you are not in pain, and you are happy. Aging sure does change things, but without suffering it is just more lessons - life take it easy, be in the moment and accept all the love you can.

G.J, we are so sorry about the dementia. Since you are not in pain, we know it is harder on your mum and dad than it is on you. Hope you can maintain your health otherwise, so that you can continue to do things you enjoy such as having friends like Nellie come for a visit. We all grow older, sweet Jasper. It's a part of living.
We just do our best and go on. Our gran cries out at night, can't use the human litter box, and is infirm in other ways. But she seems happy and we are happy for each day. You are always in our prayers, previous one. We love you so much.
