The first silly day of the year..

Hello everyone. Well its been quite a mixed Easter weekend. Mum has been down with a chesty head cold thingy and spent Friday evening and all day Saturday in bed. It was the first 40's event of the year today and she was not sure if she would make it. In the end mum and dad went and had a fun day but it was bitterly cold with snow still on the ground at the event venue. Crich tram way village in Derbyshire. The organisers had been working tirelessly to clear the snow and
  make the event happen.

Here are a few pictures. But just look at what she was up to in the first one. Sheesh. There were three of these huge woofies.
                                               These ladies had such fun.
Chicken on the menu. Thankfully it was not  a real chicken.
Mum said they were really silky..
                                                     Hello Hello..
                                                           Silly pair..
                                                   It was really cold..

Mum felt sorry for this poor little evacuee in short trousers but he was such a cutie and didn't seem to feel the cold.

Just look at these two..
Hope you have all had a good Easter..
Love and hugs to all. GJ xx

What a wonderful event! Your mum and dad look so cute and the town looks lovely except for that nasty white stuff. What fun! Our mum would love to join in the fun. Love your mums attire. Hope she feels better soon and very glad you stayed where you were warm and dry.

Wow--what great pix! So these events are like a re-staging of 1940s events and styles? What fun! I don't see any kitties though! (They were smart enough to stay inside where it's warm, right?)

Excellent pictures, Ginger Jasper. It looks like it was quite a fun time. And don't worry about the tyke in shorts; you don't feel the cold much until you get to be my age...
