A little catch up and purrs galore........

Hello everyone, a small update on a few things that are going on for us. we wont go on and on because no one wants to hear lots of doom and gloom but there has been an awful lot of gloom going on. Mum is working through it and does feel a little more positive now.We have got lots of pictures to show you from the Olympic torch passing us and other things that happened near by. we will try and show you some over next few days. Firstly though, one of mums big worries is our little Thumbalina, Alivia. Alivia is still having many health problems and going back and forward to hospitals. They just don't seem to be able to find what the problem is. At first they said milk alergy, then thyroid problems, then this and that. Alivia is still only 10lbs 8 oz and is almost 6 months old, she weighed 7lb 13 1/2 when born so is way too small now. We just hope they find out soon what is wrong as it is such a worry. She is though a gorgeous baby and so pleasant.
Mum has an ouchie on her face which was a small mole. It turned nasty and is a small skin cancer. The doctor thinks it is not the kind that spreads and that it will cut out. Because it is very close to the eye mum is going to the hospital to get it cut out and goes next week for that to be done..

Our friends over at white dog army are taking part in the New Mexico puppy up walk against cancer. Our grandad is pictured on the poster and we are so proud to be able to take part in a small way against the awful disease that it is. You can see more about this
Here
Our very good friends at Zoolatry are needing our prayers and purrs and woofs as their poppy goes through another gruelling round of treatment to keep the awful c at bay. we send them all our love, prayers and purrs at this time..
Visit Here
Mum has started to sort out pictures for the Olympics and this one is for the beam walking event...
You will probably remember that we tell you about grandma's plant. It always flowers early for grandma's birthday and again at Christmas. Well while there have been sads going on here it flowered just one flower. Mum likes to think that grandma is watching and sending love to her. When things are not going quite right mum gets a distinctive smell around her , it was what she smelled when at grandma's. a mixture of talc, cough medicine and flowers. Mum gets it really strong sometimes and thinks this is the same thing as the plant flowering. Dad thinks mum is daft because he does not smell it. What do you think..

Enough prattle for now.. Love to all.. Hugs GJ xxxx

We sure send tons of purrs to your Mum and to sweet little Alivia too. My Dad had skin cancer close to his eye and had it cut out too so tell Mum we understand. Love ya GJ!

We're sending our loudest purrs to your mum and to Alivia and to you all. Our grandpa had skin cancer on the end of his nose and that removed some years back now. Regular sun screen doesn't prevent skin cancer, your mum will need the kind that has zinc (?) in it. Her specialist probably has told her that already. That's what our grandpa has to use now!

Paws crossed that everyone will be fine, GJ.

Pee Ess: My Mom absolutely believes Christmas Cactus plants bloom as messages from our loved ones. Ours was Mom's mother's plant over 30 years ago before she died, and it always blooms in February for her Mom's birthday. As well as Christmas.

Sweet little Thumbelina Alivia, she is such a precious little doll. WE hope so much that the doctors can figure out what is going on. So unfair for a little one to have to be so frail.

Tell Mum we will cross our paws for her surgery to go well too. And we also have them crossed for Poppy Vic and Ann.

Your Mom is not daft! Our Mom smells things like that , too! Many years ago, a man was killed at Mom's work. Every so often, Mom and a co-worker could smell funeral flowers where he died!

WE are sending lots of purrs to your Mom and Alivia! It is just not fair that she is so sick!

We hope the hospital find the reason for Alivia's low weight gain and she starts to gain a few pounds. Sorry to hear about your Mum's "nasty" mole
and it gets zapped very soon. We've entered the "beam event" at the Olympics too GJ - perhaps between us we can make it gold and silver for the UK!!

you do have so much going on and so much to deal with. I also hope they can find out what is wrong with sweet baby Alivia...

((((hugs))) to you with your upcoming procedure, we are certain that all will be fine!

I had bought my nephew that same Tiger in your photo. I bought it a few years ago!

Not so good news in your home ! I had to convert Alivia's weight into kg, and yes, that's really not very much. Does she eat well ? Some babies are putting weight on later, and it is also a question of bones.
I had the same skin problem on one cheek, it had been cut out and it's really gone. It's only a little intervention when it is diagnosed at time. Hope it will all get better soon !

Is that the most adorable photo of Alivia!! So darling! A perfect angel!
Alivia has been in our prayers, dear GJ. We were afraid your absence might have had something to do with the baby feeling unwell so we started with our prayers and purrs. And no, your mum isn't daft. Your Gran is with her. My goodness, she even sent your mum the flower on her cactus as a sign. How much more assuring could that be? Our Gran had a cancer in the same area as your mum. It was very invasive but they got it all and the scar is invisible. It's nice to see your grandad. He looks like a kind
man. Love to all.

We think it's wonderful your mom is able to get an occasional whiff of a scent she recognizes of her mom's. Of course your dad can't smell it, it isn't intended for him. :)

We hope Alivia will be doing much better soon. It's been hard on the whole family with her having health problems.

We send purrs and pawhugs for your mom's (minor, we hope) mole surgery to go perfectly.
