A morning ritual........

Hello everyone.. I thought I would show you what I have to endure every morning.. Sheesh it is just not good but mum and dad say I have to have these meds to keep me going So I suppose I have to... They have found out that it seems less stressful if just dad gives me them as I seem calmer that if mum is holding me.I just sit there close to dad. But no matter how secretive they are and that they don't speak a word, whenever dad goes to mix them I quickly get behind the sofa. Dad just waits and when I walk out he scoops me up..

Ready for the off....

Yuk....

Clean up the dribbles.....

Chin skritches between...

Sweet talk and hugs...

I usually sit and sulk for a little while just so they know .... I am though really good and don't bite and scratch... The worst part is that they have found that it is better to give my appetite pill separate and a little later so I get that one shoved in straight as it is about an hour later.. Its just so not fair... But hey.... It is keeping me going so I should not grumble....
Mum has two more late shifts with on call then has booked a few off..So see you all soon....

Much love and hugs..... GJ xxxx

I don't know, Jasper ... me thinks grumblin' and groanin' is good, I mean, let those humans know how you really feel about all this stuff! (I sure did when I had to take all those yukky meds lately.)
And as for hiding behind the sofa, I'm really good at hiding, so maybe we can secretly share some "best hidey places"; you tell me yours, I'll tell you mine ...
Love, Zoey

Sweet GJ, we are so sad that you have to endure the indignity of the meds, but if it's helping you keep going, it's definitely worth it.

We love you!!!!!!!!!!

You are very good to take your meds like a good boy, Ginger Jasper. Mom wishes you could teach the little bipeds here how to be good about taking their meds too.

Hope Mum gets some relaxing time when she is off.

Taking medicine is never very fun, Ginger Jasper. No matter how advanced doctors think they are, they still can't get medicine to taste decently. But it's helping you, so you must take it. We want you to stay around for a long time.

We think you are being very brave and good to take those pills. Your mom and dad know that it's best for you, even if not fun.

Cats are terrible, when I had to give a shot to Rosie for a week, she new exactly when I had the syringe behind my back, even if I made my most innocent face ! She hid behind the sofa. Without syringe she didn't run away, They must feel it !

You are like me. You know something is up. The Woman finds that she would have to hold onto meds until I was ready for attention and then grab me quickly and get it over with! I hate being medicated too but we are glad you are doing well with yours-- purrs.

Such an excellent boy! We cats know that taking medications is awful! And we also know that your wonderful dad takes no pleasure in doing things that upset his kitty son. Especially when you're not feeling well, love. It is because your dad loves you so much that he gives you the medicine, honest! We can tell by the loving way he handles you that he just wants you to be well. Maybe you might give your dad just a wee kiss to let him know that although you hate the medicine you love him.
We love you so much, dearest Jasper, and you remain in our prayers.

When I give a pill to one of my cats, I put a little bit of butter on it to help it slide down.
