Updates and thanks

Hello everyone. Firstly sorry for not posting yesterday but we were waiting on vets to see what was happening. yesterday I ate nothing at all and as you can imagine this was driving mum and dad mad with worry and frustration. Mum spoke to the vet as to what we were going to do. Firstly I have been back to have more blood taken, this time to go away to a special lab to test for pancreatic problems. The next stage will be a ultrasound to look for something not showing in other tests. I have been taking the anti-inflammatory each day. When I went today I saw a different vet who after a struggle with me took more blood from my neck. This vet examined me again and she said my teeth apart from the small broken one look fine. the vet also said she could feel that I had solid feces waiting to come out which was a good sign, she wondered if I have had fur balls sitting there and That I have been feeling sick with this and therefore not wanting to eat. I have for the past couple days been drinking cat milk which is very rich and full of vitamins. It is also quite greasy which would help with fur. We get the results for the blood tests hopefully early next week and if not showing positive for pancreatitis I will have the ultrasound. Mum had bought some very cheap smelly stinky goodness that one of my blog friends suggested. We came back from thee vet and I ate some of that and drank some milk. That I can tell you is a bonus. I do thank everyone for all the purrs, woofs and prayers and please know we appreciate them very much.. I love you all.. I will keep you all updated .. With love and hugs GJ xxx Carol and Barrie xxx

we've been wondering if there hasn't been some kind of blockage in your tummy that's making you feel full and not wanting to eat.

We have been checking in regularly all day to see if there were any updates and were relieved to find one.

#1 remembers that with her first cat, Ikkyu, there was once a problem with an, ahem..., intestinal blockage. He had to have some serious drugs to "clear the pathways" and was fine after that.

Anyway, we are thinking of you, GJ, and your Mom, and sending purrs, woofs, neighs and big hugs.

Hi Ginger Jasper. We have been so worried about you. I sure am glad you ate some of that cheap stinky food. And drank the milk. We sure hope the blood work doesn't show anything bad but we sure wish the vet would come up with something easy to fix you. So GJ, get busy eating right NOW.We need you to get better.

Well GJ, we hope that stinky goodness and the milk helps mover things along. We have cat-lax here that Meowm gives us now and then to help move hairballs along. Do they have anything like that owhere you are? It's basically a flavored petroleum jelly.

Great news that you ate some, GJ! I hope the vets can figure out what is going on with you soon! We are all very worried about you.

Purrs, purrs and more purrs, GJ. You don't want to have that feces in your colon too long, otherwise it becomes too hard. Never mind all the enemas poor Annie had to have, but Derry did have just a baby enema back in March -- tiny squirt up the bum, and presto! poop!

We'll cross our paws it's something simple like that, not pancreatitis.

Hello, precious love! We were worried sick about you!
It's thrilling to know that you have had something to eat and drink! Hurrah for very stinky goodness and cat milk! Hopefully that will get the intestines back on track. As a previous poster said, if the stool gets too dry it's hard to move it. And fiber, in the absence of adequate hydration can cause real constipation. Did you vet give you anything to help things along?
We are so happy to hear from you! We know that it is your mum and dad's place to be by your side but we are very glad they gave us an update. Praying and purring for you and your mum and dad. ALL of our love.

Awww...we are thinking of you sipping milk and being brave at the vets and that the tests show your vets how best to make you get better. Pancreatitis would be kinda good cuz it's treatable, and not a bad diagnosis. Teri has kinda a short memory so she can't remember if she sent you info on pancreatitis, but here's a few links to info on pancreatitis, inflammatory bowel disease and liver disease--three things often linked together:

glad that you ate at least a little something. Am hoping the vet can find out what it is. If it is fur balls you can also get that petroleum stuff (I can't think of the name, but I bet others know) that has malt in it. You put it on your finger and let GJ lick it off....that will also help to soften it to get it out. Thinking of you!

Fur balls, now THAT could be the problem. Remember how sick Chey was last year with that? We're purring for you GJ! Get better soon please.

Good to hear ya ate some food an drank some milk. Iffen it helps, we eat high-quality healthy stuff, but sometimes it doesnt smell all that great. So TBT sometimes puts one good (but not great-healthy) treat next ta our bowls. We eat THAT then our tummies want more stuff, so we eat the healthy stuff.

Its worth a try...

Hey, do they sell a product there called NutriCal? It comes in a tube and is a high-calorie nutritional supplement - they make it for dogs and for cats. You might want to check the pet shops for it!
