Sheesh what a day.......

They spoil all the fun.... Today mum heard me clattering around and came to see what I was doing... She found me wapping a flutterby... Mum said Ohhhhh no jasper don't kill the flutterby and would you believe she took it away...
Mum put it in a pot but.......
Wapp te he I spotted it....
Mum rescued it again and put it in a high basket....I don't know if you can see it because it has its wings folded up. It sat like this for a long time and mum thought it was too late but it opened its wings and flew up high.. free...
Then would you believe when I look the other way... There was an introoder on my patch would you believe.... He was eating what the neighbour put out, can you see him licking his lips....
He watched us closely and do you know I did not chase him.....
Sheesh what a day.. ope yours is good my friends... Hugs GJ xx

Oh no...the poor butterfly. They are so pretty but I can see why you would want to play with it. What a pretty kitty friend. :)

Hello GJ,

What a day indeed, thanks for sharing with us. You look very handsome. We still recall the day you had your 'lion furstyle' ....

P:S: Momo loves catchin and eating flies.
She's very quick and I can't stop her!

Aw GJ, you just couldn't catch a break today, could you?

You had quite a day with your mum taking away your flutterby and then an introoder watching you. It's good you didn't waste any energy in chasing him. We hope your weekend is better!

I hope mom Carol is doing well.

After the whole box fiasco, your flutterby was taken away as well? Oh GJ, what a hard life you lead. Good boy for not chasing the other ginger kitty.

Your mom took away your playmate?

That's a good looking intruder.

Humans are such spoilsports. I am sure it would have been very crunchy. And put up less of a fight than the intruder.

Oh, GJ. Do you know what came into our house today? A bird. Yep. A house finch with a pretty red breast. He (we know it was a he, 'cause his chest was so red) flew up high and got between the shades that cover a big window. Moma was able to catch him by stadning on the couch with a small towel (she's had practice, since she leaves the door open so we can go out on the deck) and then she released him back to the outdoors. Now. You must realize that I LOVE birds. It was quite exciting to watch Moma catch that little one. I bet you would've loved it, too. Think of the fun we could've had!

What a day!

Humans are rather good at spoiling bits of fun, aren't they?! We have been told in no uncertain terms that flutterbyes are a big no-no. However, we did all work together to catch a mouse the other day!!!

That intruder looks like he might not be such a bad guy. What do you think, GJ? Is that why you didn't chase him?

We think this is what will be written in GJ's Daily Diary:

Dear Diary:
Some days you win. Some days you lose.
Today I lost. Today the flutterby won.
That's life.

GJ, you can come here and catch butterflies and moths...Derry's great at doing that and he loves to crunch them up. Mom just says it's extra protein. :-P

Does your introoder cat have a home, we wonder? We're glad he's got food, at any rate!

It would be OK to play with the butterfly, GJ, but they are too pretty to hurt. And that intruder - wouldn't you like to make friends? Maybe he would share whatever that was that was so tasty.

That is not fair taking your flutterby away. We prefer moths, more meat on them! Did you let the introoder stay because he is ginger too?

The Florida Furkids said...

We're glad the flutterby is okay. Mom says we can only watch them, not play with them.

That introoder is pretty brave to stare at the flashy box like that.

Goodness, you have had a tough day GJ. Love the name flutterby. We did see it on the plant. We are kind of glad it got away. We are very norty too and catch those fluttetbys. Be careful of that introoder GJ. Take care. Hope tomorrow is better. But maybe it is already tomorrow there.

Kari said...

You did a very fine thing by letting the flutterby go, dearest boy. Maybe you'll be rewarded by a nice leggy spider!
Say, that intruder is a beautifully marked ginger. Do you think that he might be a nice cat friend? Sometimes it's nice to be in the company of ones own kind. You are looking just so delightful. That sweet, expressive face of yours is just too cute. You are a treasure, love. Hope your mum is feeling better each day. Our mum has been meaning to send her something since her surgery. But Gran has had mum busy. Love to all.
