Back to the vet...Updates and visitors....

well firstly here is the update. This morning the vet ( Sue ) spoke to mum, she was sorry for yesterday but emergencies and busy busy all day. Sue asked could we go back in this afternoon as she was not happy with what was going on and wanted to check me out from top to toe. We went in and Sue ( who is very nice ) checked me out again, she felt for lumps and bumps and prodded me all over. My gums today look red and inflamed but in a different place to yesterday so maybe a virus. Sue says she wants to stop the big loss of weight as it could get really bad but is not sure what is causing the problem, but is sure there is one. I have been put on a course of anti inflammatory drugs, some more to try to make me feel better and we will hope things improve over the next few days, if not then I will have to go in and have a general anaesthetic to see if my mouth has a problem. they are reluctant as its only a couple months since I had a dental with teeth out but cant leave too long . Last night dad chopped up some cheese for me and I ate some and today I ate a little of my soft food which was a little more than in the past but nowhere near enough. Mum is trying anything and everything, from mince, chicken, prawns. soft food. crunches and is running out of ideas. Fingers crossed that the meds help.. Then when we got back we had surprise visitors , Nicholas bean came to see us with his mum and dad. Nicholas has grown so much and was into everything including my toys.. Jade bean played smacky paw with me.. Hey Nicholas that's my hammick.... Hey its not a seat.....
And that's my dad.....
After they had gone dad gave me my medication and half an hour later I am behind the sofa which I don't do often. Now dad is trying to persuade me to come out as it worries them. Fingers crossed the medication helps and I start to pick up. Love to all GJ xx

GJ, they do say that no news is good news, but in this case, it would be nice to have an explanation and a remedy. We hope the new meds help and you start eating properly again soon. Mum and Dad don't need this kind of worry.

Little Nicholas is really growing up and what a handsome dude he is!!!

Oh, GJ...We hope you get a definitive diagnosis and that your meds do the trick. It's really hard for humans to live in limbo, knowing something's "off" but not being able to figure out what and then do something specific to help. It's very worrying, very stress-inducing. So while we're purring for you, we're also purring for your mum and dad!

Gosh GJ, we sure hope the medication works. We just wonder if your inflamed mouth has something to do with your not eating. If that is the case, then the medication should work. We certainly will be checking up on you a lot. The good news is that they didn't find any tumors so it might be something very treatable. Maybe the reason you went behind the sofa, was that you were just worn out from the vet and then visitors. Love the pictures of Nicholas on the Ham-Mick.

Oh honey, we are so worried about you! Not eating and now hiding is very upsetting. Maybe some nice meat baby food would help. It would be very easy on your mouth, if your teeth are the problem. Try to stay well hydrated as dehydration only makes everything feel worse. We know your mum knows all of this but we see you unwell and feel so helpless. You are in our prayers, sweet Jasper. God bless you and you mum and dad. We hope you start to feel better soon on your new medication.

We are purring the medicine helps. Sometimes we likes to eat 100% pumpkin (not the pie filling) and plain yogurt when we don't feel well.

The Mom went to the human Dr. today and he stole her bloods. And ordered some test, so the Mommy says she knows just how you feel after your trip to the vet GJ.

Healing purrs, crossed paws & fingers and positive thoughts from all of us.

My dear handsome GJ, I so sorry to hears you are not feeling well and losing weight. It can be difficult when you are not sure of the cause, you might ask your mum to talk to the vet about possible Irritable Bowel, dat is what my brofur has and all his tests were normal, even x-rays. But the pills he takes helps him so he has all his weight back. Also please ask your mum to check for side effects from anti-inflammatory drugs. Momma sent your mum a message on FB about something to helps you want to nom. I sending you many purrrrrrrrrrrs you feels better!

My poor GJ. We still don't know what is going on with you. Do they have the Blue Buffalo Select canned food in the U.K.? That's what mom is feeding me and I'm eating pretty well. Hiding behind the couch always scares the beans. I've been hiding under the bed a lot lately and that always worries my mom, too.

Purring really hard that you start eating again and that the vet finds out what is wrong and that it can be fixed quickly!

GJ, we are crossing all our paws that the medication will make you feel better and your appetite comes back soonest.

When we are not well and don't want t eat, #1 gives us either very soft food, such as Science Diet AD from the vet's or Hi-Life petit pâé, or she gets some white fish that she bakes in the oven.

Purrs,

GJ when our old girl Puss was sick, mum tried her on yoghurt, icecream and even butter which she liked and all helped her keep her weight on.

We hope you feel better soon friend, and your nice vet can help. She sounds like a lovely doctor and we thank her for helping our special friend.

Here's hoping all those new meds take care of the anti-inflammation and whatever else is going on so you can start eating better and feeling better.

Since you had some teeth work done, maybe you've got an infection of some sort from that.

And then, too, maybe your gums just hurt and it hurts to eat.

We'll continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that GJ isn't feeling top-notch and that he's lost weight recently. At least the bloodwork was good, though.

Please eat something, GJ, so your Mom and Dad don't worry. There are just too many kitties feeling unwell lately, we have to spread our purrs around. But, we have lots left for you, so we're purring hard for you to feel better and gain back some weight.

You're so precious!
