Every year for the 40's weekend here the people come in their droves. This year with the sunshine was no exception..
This year it was a Dakota for the fly past.
The lady in the red cape is wearing the uniform from the QARANC which was my regiment. I am in the process of trying to get the whole outfit together. They are though quite scarce.
Of course I found some woofies. This one was so friendly and loved a fuss..
Our friends with Coco and Nugget.
Our friend came for the day to have a look at the event and loved it. I think she will be back..
Of course we are reminded what the events are about and they honour our services from the war. In the church was a very poignant display..
A letter from a serviceman to his friends mum. Just after he wrote this he himself was killed in action.
I could not resist taking this lady. She was enjoying the sun on her face and sat with her eyes closed for ages just soaking it up. I loved how she was dressed and I think she could do it all the time.
This little evacuee was adorable with her little dog.
I loved his little doggy gas mask.
Of course I found a kitty or rather she found me and shared the butter and cream from my scone..
Hope you liked a little look at our 40's weekend.
take care everyone. Hugs Carol x

Looks like you all had a lovely time. Is it in Haworth? It looks like the place you took us to where we had the coffee and lovely cakes.
Looks like a fun time! Loved how everyone is dressed up and really loved the kitty enjoying the butter and cream!

Wow, the 40s weekend looks like so much fun!
Those are just fabulous photos--the weather was perfect! The letter just about broke my heart...it brought the war so close.
Beautiful photos and it looks like you had a LOVELY time too!!
Pawsome Photos !
You both are SERIOUSLY have a great time :)
xoxo
We agree with Puddy--you look fantastic and we think you have a ton of fun at these 40s events. The Human was born in the 40s, even if it was in the very last week of 1949! Her friend who was born on January 1, 1950 always accuses the Human of being a whole decade older, MOL ;-)
Howdy Carol, what fabulous photos. We loved them all. Glad you enjoyed yourselves. The kitty at the end was so sweet. Wish we could have played chasey hehehe (oh we're bad aren't we!). No worries, and love, Stella and Rory (and Carol)
I super enjoyed the photos!
It kooks like a grand time, and what lovely weather you had!
What a neat way to remember all the people who have served your country. Glad you had a good time. The kitty that found you is really adorable, too.

You both look adorable.
What a touching letter the young man wrote, made all the more poignant by his demise. Yes,we must not forget them.
We kitties did our part too. We kept the mousies away from the food for the war effort. We're always glad to see one of our kind participating.
Hello Carol, Barrie and of course Angel Ginger Jasper. Thanks so very much for sharing your 40's weekend. What a fun time. You always look like you are getting every drop out of all you do. What a wonderful way to live life.
