Mum and dads day at Oxford and a bloggie friend too...

On Thursday mum and dad went to Oxford for the day. They drove down there early morning and arrived near lunch time. Because mum knew that a good bloggy friend lived there: Diane (Blue) from My true colours she emailed and said can we meet for coffee. More than that happened , Diane met with mum and dad and became their tour guide for the day. This made the trip much more special because they got to see parts of Oxford they would have probably missed. Here are some of the many pictures dad took. Not in any order because as usual mum is short of time and going to work. They do show you some of the beautiful city that Oxford is. The day was also very lovely weather wise, and the sun shone that day.
They started with a drink at the side of the river..
Lovely gardens...

So many beautiful buildings.....

Check out this ceiling......

The sundial was amazing....
The windows too...

They climbed a tower and wow the views from above..

No wonder they call it dreaming spires...

Those are just a few of the many beautiful pictures. It was a truly lovely day.. Thank you Diane for being a wonderful tour guide.. we loved it and your company too. It was so nice to meet a bloggy friend in person..
Mum says sorry if she does not get round all the fur friends. Late shift next few days and not a lot of time.. She will try before work on a morning.. Hugs GJ xx

Beautiful pictures, but most of all it's wonderful getting to see your Mom and Diane together!! We know they had a nice visit. Our Mom is slightly envious.

Dearest Jasper! Mommy is sitting here with her mouth hanging open!! She can't talk she is so green in the face with envy. You got to meet my cousin Blue! We are related, did you know that? She is camera shy so I am glad to see how sweet your mommy looks next to her enjoying the repast of the day. There is nothing better than meeting a dear friend in purrrson finally.
Dreaming Spires is the most enchanting spot we can imagine...thank you for making us so happy know you were there and letting us peek into the windows that your daddy took. Hey do I see a bee in one of those shots...cool!
When you teleport over for my wedding to Mickey on the 31st, maybe you and Blue and Sir Woodstock can travel together...
Lots of love Miss Peach

Would love to see in person. Someone thinks it is a bee in one of the pictures, I think it is a fly. Did it come home with you?

Oh I love Oxford. This was a real nostalgia trip for me. I love the buildings, the architecture, the art, the ethos of the whole place. And I love the book shops ~ I've spent many a happy hour delving into the deep recesses of book shops looking for rare "finds".
And when the sun is on the Dreaming Spires ~ I always thinks of Jude the Obscure.
I love the Bridge of Sighs pic too. (For any non-uk readers: The Bridge of Sighs in Oxford is almost as famous a landmark as its Italian counterpart. The bridge was built in 1913 and is named after the famous Venice Bridge. However, it was modelled on the Rialto Bridge, another famous bridge in Venice)

Thanks for sharing the pics.
