There I was sat on thee back of mum's chair. Mum was visiting some of our friends and I was keeping one eye on her and also enjoying a sun puddle through the window.(We are not having many lately so grab while you can I say )Mum saw that my reflection was perfect in her laptop screen, as she has got some good pictures like this before she reached down for her camera which was luckily nearby and this is what she got.

Mum thinks they are cute and hey who am I to deny her. Te he he.

Updates now for everyone. Liam is doing ok as they have blitzed the infection with lots of IV antibiotics and he is at home recovering.

Lilli's mouth is almost healed with just a little mark for her to show her war wound. MOl

Tristan is still in a lot of pain after his surgery and he says he does not know how a couple of fingers can cause so much. dad takes him back tomorrow for his follow up appointment, so they can check how it is going and if the wires need to stay in for a lot longer or less.

Once again thank you so much for all your purrs and grrss you are all stars..

Every friend do I have news for you.. This morning I went into the vet hospital for a few hours.. I can tell you I was so worried when I saw that place and even more so when I saw the cage that was my bed for four days recently. Mum and dad said not to worry because it would not be for long but how do you not worry... They shaved my neck.. Stuck that big needle in and stole my bloods. Then they took my blood pressure. Mum and dad were at home and waiting for the results.. well the vet man rang them on the phone and this is what he said....
The blood pressure was in normal limits, one of the levels was slightly raised but not worryingly so. two others were within limits and one had actually fallen. I had even put on 2 ounces in weight... The vet said he was really really pleased with me and he and mum and dad were doing the right thing in medication and care and had the right balance. Our lovely vet said he was going to go out on a limb and say he would let me go three months without blood tests.. I cant tell you how pleased mum and dad are at this news.... he said we must not let our guard down and to keep to all the medication and renal diet. We are to call him straight away if there is any change at all but to say he did not think I would make Christmas hey the news today is just fabulous.. Mum and dad wanted to jump up and down..... In fact they did jump up and down... There is a little life left in me yet....

Mum says red roses are for love and I am surrounded by love so the picture is so appropriate...

What a few days........

Well my friends where do I start. My last post said have a good weekend but I can tell you ours went rather differently. On Saturday we heard that Liam ( you remember our nephew bean who had the bad accident) was in hospital in London, he had gone to London for the weekend with his girlfriend and had become very unwell. Liam had picked up some sort of infection and because he lost his spleen in the accident he cant fight infections. Liam was admitted which resulted in his mum and dad haring down to London quick smart. Liam was really ill but the doctors did well and he is now recovering thankfully.
Next thing to happen was our bean Tristan had an accident at work where a very large gate fell onto his hand crushing it. Tristan went into shock and went down like a stone striking his head on the way down. Colleagues got him up only for him to go down again, this time hitting a metal table and breaking his nose. Tristan's blood pressure plummeted with shock and he began fitting, he was taken to hospital and after x rays had to go to a different hospital as he had shattered his fingers. Today dad took him back and he had surgery on his hand were they put wires in his fingers and put it in a cast. Next week he must go back for his nose resetting.
Mum and dad had only been at home half an hour after taking Tristan home from hospital yesterday when mum had to go back round to his house because Lilli bean had fallen and hurt her face and lip. Mum put on sterri strips as it would be less traumatic than stitches. Mum said sheesh all sit on the sofa and don't move lol as we don't want any more mishaps.
So all in all it has been a very full on few days and that's why we have not been here. On Friday I go to the vet for all my tests and I really hope it wont be another sheesh...

Hello everyone.. Its really cold here at the minute and this is what I have been doing a lot of.. I hope you all stay warm and snug...

On Saturday mum and dad went to a christening of mum's great great niece Lexi...

yes I did say great great niece.. Mum says this does make her feel old because she remembers well the christening of her nephew..

Left to right nephew Howard, mum, great nephew Stefan and in the middle great great niece Lexi.. Mum said that seeing all the generations made her feel a zillian years old MOL...

Thank you all for the lovely comments yesterday, we so appreciate your caring. I am a big man cat for sure and my vet calls me his lovely big cuddly bear.I am though very thin under all the fur and did lose a lot of weight. Mum and dad are not worrying too much about that because so long as I hold my own and don't lose more it wont be so bad. the problems arose when I didn't eat for so long and lost so much weight. My body was using its own fat and that was why my kidneys failed as they could not cope with this and were poisoning my body, so I just have to keep eating and hold my weight for as long as possible..

Mum said to dad that she had no new pictures of me with her. dad said OK lets remedy that... This is the result.. My mum and me...

It helped yesterday and today taking the pill later,in that I was not sick but I may have to get extra as my eating is not as good as it was. Mum and dad get slightly paranoid because the vet said I will start to drop off with my eating when my kidneys are not playing ball. I am though not hiding and am bright enough in myself so hopefully that is not happening. I go back nest week for half a day and they will do scans. bloods and blood pressure to check me out because. as the vet says we don't want anything to creep up on us unawares..

After the storm.....

Well there is always an after the storm. My tablet had not been down long enough and I didn't eat, I got another later in the day and that night I ate. Then yesterday the same thing, I was sick and didnt eat, later in the day I had another pill and last night I ate. Today dad is waiting until later in the day to give the pill. I get my heart and kidney meds early and then usually the appetite pill about an hour later. I do though seem to eat better either very late in the day or in the night so from now we will try the pill a little later to allow me to settle more first.
But after the whole pill episode when I have sulked a little I go for some love and Chin skritches.....

I am not a happy kitty today.. I had the yucky meds that I get every day and usually I am fine but sometimes like today when I had my appetite pill I threw up straight after. That upsets me, it upsets, mum and it upsets dad. Result... All of us upset... Can you see my face in the grumpy sad photo's taken just a few minutes after. The worst thing is that if I don't eat today then I have to get another tablet because it means the fist one didn't stay inside long enough to work. Sheesh a man cat cant win.......

Hello everyone.. I thought I would show you what I have to endure every morning.. Sheesh it is just not good but mum and dad say I have to have these meds to keep me going So I suppose I have to... They have found out that it seems less stressful if just dad gives me them as I seem calmer that if mum is holding me.I just sit there close to dad. But no matter how secretive they are and that they don't speak a word, whenever dad goes to mix them I quickly get behind the sofa. Dad just waits and when I walk out he scoops me up..

I usually sit and sulk for a little while just so they know .... I am though really good and don't bite and scratch... The worst part is that they have found that it is better to give my appetite pill separate and a little later so I get that one shoved in straight as it is about an hour later.. Its just so not fair... But hey.... It is keeping me going so I should not grumble....

Mum has two more late shifts with on call then has booked a few off..So see you all soon....

Hello everyone.. hope you all had a great New Year's eve and that the new year will bring many good things to all my friends... Mum was on nights all during the new year and had a very busy new years eve with so many mixed emotions. From seeing a face full of smiles because a friendly face appeared just when it was needed.A laughing embarrassed face because someone had fallen after a small drinky to bring in the new year. So many calls that night but one that will stick in the mind.. Everyone outside and around celebrating the new Year and fireworks popping all around, but a very different one for one elderly couple couple with mum holding the hand of a very ill man and his very afraid wife while waiting for the ambulance that mum had just called. Theirs was going to be a new year with a very unwelcome start.. But they were both saying thank you for this small comfort.. A sobering thought.. we must so count our blessings.

Today is our Nicholas bean's 2nd birthday..
Happy Birthday great grandson bean..

Mum and dad couldn't get to see him today because of the silly thing called work but he got a nice package in the post from them and we send our love..

Tonight we wanted to say to all our friends that we wish them all a very Happy, healthy and love filled New Year... The past year has been full of very mixed happenings and emotions and many of our friends have suffered illness, unhappiness and even death, but there have been good times too and all our wonderful friends have been there through it all... Starting the blog was at first a sort of hobby and it turned into something much much more worthwhile.. We found friends, some have become more than friends.. We are so thankful..Very thankful... We so love our friendships found... All of them....

Where oh where has my Santa paws package been......

Hello everyone.. What do you think.. The mail service have somewhere been holding my Santa Paws package and decided to bring it for me today... The lovely Sheldon who is all the way from Poland sent me some pawsome goodies.There were actually two packages a small one and a larger one taped together. I got some jingly balls and some balls with feathers and a wand with feathers. Some lovely small mice which I love. There was a sweetie bar for mum and some organic treats for me. What a stash.. It may have been late because of the post but better late than never and it was Worth waiting for...
A lovely card was in the package....

Mum is going to ask the vet if I can have these, they say they are all natural, no wheat, no sugar or additives, so fingers crossed....

The best thing of all for mum was that I actually got a jingly ball and a feather out of the package myself...I have shown no interest in my toys for an age but I did get these out. I have not played with them yet but hey... how fabulous was that...

I was exhausted after all the excitement and had to have a snooze.. the package envelope made a nice pillow..

We don't know where the package has been hiding but we are glad it came... Mum is waiting for three other packages to come. All posted from different parts of the USA on the 6th December and none arrived yet. hat is happening with the post, we know its Christmas but sheeesh..

Christmas updates.....

Hello my friends... I hope you all had a really good day yesterday with lots of good things and most of all lots of love... Even though mum was working on late shift the beans came early to see us before they had even opened their own presents from Santa at home. We thought that was a nice thing to do because it was lovely to see them.

Dad was overwhelmed by his gift from mum because look what she had done for him.. There were tears over this when it was opened.. Dad really loved it and it was even more special because I was here to share it with him...Mum had it done as a special surprise and was so worried that I would not be here when she gave it to dad...

After mum and dad shared Christmas lunch, mum went to work but I was there and dad and I shared the day together..
Today is our boxing day and hey... mums not working so we have the day to relax and eat and be merry.. I wish you all a fun rest of the holidays..

My update from the vets today.....

My Xmas card.. please take if you would like one...

Everyone today I was at the vet again and here is my report.. Mum and dad told him that with the help of the tablets I am eating and.... I am managing to eat half and half with the renal food and the proper food.. I had my heart tested and I was weighed. I am holding my weight with no gain but no loss either, a good thing. My heart is holding steady with the tablets and my kidneys must be too , so the medication is keeping me stable.. Up to now the vet would only give me enough heart and kidney tablets for a few days because he didn't want to tempt fate with any more. Today the vet said he was so pleased with me and he was going to let me have a whole month before I go again. I can not tell you how happy that made mum and dad feel. I am to go in towards the end of January and stay half a day to have my blood pressure measured and my blood taken , both to see how my kidneys are holding up. They are trying to get some of appetite tablets from a human supplier and hopefully will get them soon as I only have a very few left.

Both mum and dad and the vets did not think I would be here to see Christmas.. I am and hopefully with the help of the brilliant vets and my medication I will get a little while longer yet.. Mum and dad both said this is the best Christmas present ever.. I have to agree... Thank you all my friends for being with me through all this, I so appreciate you all... With much love..... GJ xxx

Sleepy me and Christmas card.....

This was me last night and is how I spend a lot of time at the moment. Mum tried to catch me to show you how I curl up so much that you cant tell which end is which but I moved when the flashy box came out. Although I sleep a lot I am not hiding away and I also love to cuddle up with my dad so yes we are getting our quality time together and with the tablets help I am eating.

Mum doesn't know what all the figures mean with levels etc but when she asked these were this week they were : Creatin 521, Urea 20.8 and something else that she didn't catch was 34. When I had been on the drip for four days one level was 12 but mum is not sure which one, she will pay more attention next time. The tablets that are keeping me eating are called Periactin 4mg they don't though make them anymore here so the vet will try to source them from elsewhere.

Right enough of me waffling because you will all be so fed up of hearing all this.It does help mum to talk about it though and we are so grateful for you listening and to all your comments and help.

Mum did feel more like commenting and yesterday visited many friends and leave a comment, she will visit some more because we have missed so much.

We got our snail mail cards out last week and this week some E cards, if we missed any then we are sorry. Please take a copy of my card either from here or the sidebar and take with our love. The wonderful Ann made my card..

Ups and downs... Worry and relief...

Hello everyone. Well we have been up and down this week and the worry motor has been going. My eating slowed down two days ago and then yesterday not much at all. When we went for my appointment at the vet he feared that I was slipping again and said we will see what the bloods showed but we had to rethink. The vet also said I should be eating some of the special renal food but I hate it so we struggle there. Mum and dad took me home and were worrying a lot. Dad gave me an extra appetite pill. The vet rushed the results through and he telephoned us with them. The results were better than the vet expected and had not slipped as far as he feared. He told mum that he was willing to repeat the IV Valium if need be. Well the extra pill worked and I ate last night and again this morning so they will hold off and see how I do. If I eat then I don't go back until Thursday and we go from there. Talk about a roller coaster, its so up and down but hey I am here and still plodding on and that's good.. Several were asking what my levels were and mum asked the vet yesterday, he said that when I was admitted my levels were off the scale and much higher than their machines could read. They were 12 a couple of days later so the drip was working.

Just a few words..........

Hello everyone, I wanted to just say a few words so you know what is happening with me. I am still eating with the help of tablets and this pleases mum and dad so much. I am though quiet and don't want to play but they say this is OK so long as I am happy.But I am wanting cuddles and that is good. I go back to see the vet tomorrow evening and he will take more blood to test my levels so fingers crossed they are OK.I will let you all know when I have been.
Mum said that even though I am ill she didn't want to disappoint our secret Santa so she got some things together and it went winging its way across the big pond a couple days ago. We do hope it gets there in time but if not please forgive us.
I Even felt up to checking it out before it went on its way.
It was only for a few minutes but mum managed a couple pictures.. I hope you enjoy....

A little more news......

Hi everyone.. Sorry for not updating before but several appointments have kept us away from the computer. We have continued to give Jasper the tablets and he has continued to eat. The tablets do make him drowsy but in between sleeping he gets up and goes to his dish for a nibble. We went to the vets this morning early as the vet was fitting us in before he started operating.We were able to say that Jasper had been eating with the medication and that he seemed much brighter on himself and much more back to wanting cuddles and lap time. When he was examined Jasper he seemed to be holding his own and when he was popped on the scales had even put a small amount back on which meant he was not using his body fat and this is good for his kidneys. We were given prescription food to try and mix with the normal food to try and wean in as it will be better.
Mum asked what the prognosis was and the vet said some cats last weeks,some months and he had known one cat last a year, it all depended how Jasper's kidneys fared.We at least know the truth and we just hope that we get the higher scale. he main thing is that at the moment the quality time is good, Jasper is home with us where he belongs and getting and giving love.. Very much so. On Friday we go back and blood Will be taken to see how the levels are doing and until then we carry on and enjoy while we can..

I will tomorrow try and visit with friends as I have neglected that terribly and am sorry for that. I got all our Christmas cards posted out to friends and will try and get GJ's secret Santa sorted out too..

We witnessed a little magic today...

Hello everyone.. Sorry for the late report but it has been quite a day. Jasper has eaten zilch nothing since coming home on Thursday evening. Barrie has tried everything humanly possible to coax, tempt but not a glimmer. We went to the vet today with a very heavy heart knowing what was ahead. We saw the main man today who listened and shook his head, he sad that Jasper would rapidly go into decline without eating. Then after examining Jasper he said there was something he could try if we were willing, in fact two things. The second one was tablets that are no longer made here but are usually really very good to stimulate appetite, he had just a very few tablets left and if we agreed then they were jasper's. We of course agreed because as the vet said we were at desperation stage now and trying anything. These tablets were safe with Jasper's heart and kidney condition too as many appetite stimulants were not.

The first thing the vet suggested sounded weird but he said could work very quickly, so quickly that a dish of food needed to be ready and waiting. This involved giving Valium intravenously. We again put our faith in him and said lets go for it. Now what happened next was pretty amazing to witness and if we hadn't seen for ourselves we would not have believed it. The nurse prepared some food, the vet shaved jasper's leg and I held him close. The needle went into the vein and the Valium went in. I felt Jasper sag down to the table with legs splayed and head down and both Barrie and I both thought how on earth in this state can our boy eat anything. The vet brought the dish around to Jasper's head and it came up. The vet then started to hand feed Jasper. The magic magic thing was that he ate it up. I carried on while the vet popped out and he ate it all. It was very emotional and we could hardly speak with emotion. We had it explained that the Valium is given IV and it shoots straight to the sensor in the brain for appetite. Wow. It was a one off thing and a last ditch attempt but wow... We start the tablets tonight for the next couple days and pray that Jasper will now eat on his own. We go back on Monday morning and will try every food available to tempt. We found out today that Jasper's kidney's are no good and we know we are on borrowed time but if he eats and with medication we could have More borrowed time to enjoy our beloved boy.. Come on GJ you can do it..

Progress report.....

Here I am to let you all know what is happening at the moment. Jasper came home yesterday tea time and immediately did a tour of his domain. Looked in every nook and cranny, checked all was well. Jasper looks better on himself than he did although painfully thin. he wont let us have lap cuddles yet even through they were his favourite but is staying nearby. last night he got in one of his favourite spots sat behind Barrie's head on the chair. Jasper has not hidden behind the sofa which is what he was doing. All this is brilliant but we know that we are far from through the tunnel because Jasper will just not eat anything, not a morsel between his lips and he must eat as this is the crucial test. Sue the vet did say that the 48 hours we get to have him home were so crucial and that he must eat as they had really performed a feat getting him back from the brink and would not be able to pull his damaged heart and kidneys back again. We were told that coming home was to be quality time. I just pray that our boy decides that he will eat but we will all enjoy our quality time and cram in all the love we can , while we can.... Hello everyone, so sorry I didn't get to post yesterday but thank you all so much for your continued support, love and caring. We truly are overwhelmed. Now for the news on our boy. I spoke yesterday At length with his vet who said that the drip had brought the levels down a little and the medication had slowed that rapid heart rate a little, she asked our permission to keep the drip on for another 24 hours and of course we agreed. I spoke again just a few minutes ago and Sue said that Jasper had nibbled a little food , not much but a start, she said she wanted us to bring him home this afternoon and to have some quality time with him for 24/48 hours and to see if we can get him to eat at home. I asked what the prognosis was and she said that we are in the balance and if Jasper started to eat and that we could keep him medicated then we were in with a chance of spending more time with our precious boy, but if he didn't then we were in trouble given his condition and how bad it is. Sue said she is pleased with how much Jasper has responded to treatment given how ill he is. We have to give him a try and we have to have the quality time with our sweet boy. We bring him home at 4:00 today after giving him another day at the vet for further treatment.We will then go back to See Sue on Saturday morning to see how Jasper has fared and Sue has promised she will tell us truthfully were we stand. told her I wont let Jasper suffer ad she said she would truthfully tell me.Please all your purrs and woofs and prayers .... Keep them coming because the next 24/48 hours are crucial...I love you all and from the bottom of mine and Barrie's hearts we Thank You all.... Love Carol and Barrie and our boy GJ xxxx

We have been to see our sweet darling boy and he is so ill, the tears are flowing from us both. No purrs, no hugs , just didn't want to be held or fussed. The vet nurse is looking after him but said he is not interested in eating or anything really. The drip hopefully will help and the meds. I asked if he was in pain and she said he is comfortable but will be feeling poorly and just wanting to be quiet. We would have given anything for a purr. We told him over and over that we we had left him there to get well so he could come home to us. I hope he understood. Our poorly boy..It shows so much in his face...

We hugged him and spoke to him but he didn't want hugs....

A few years old but always my favourite picture......
Firstly I just have to say that Barrie and I are completely overwhelmed at the love that is pouring in for our sweet boy.100 comments .We opened the blog and the sight was so comforting to us. I have said many times before on here that I was so blessed to have found blogging life and all the friends we have made. I count each and everyone of you as friends and more. I have made friends that will last forever. The tears were flowing freely and still are. THANK YOU ALL xxx
Another beautiful thing is that some of you beautiful people offered to do fundraising for the vet treatment. Thank you so much but that wont be necessary, yes the treatment is going to run into hundreds of pounds but we will weather that and have backup to use,we said to do whatever is needed so long as it helps.. There are so many friends out there that need our help and I would never detract from them and will continue to help them in any way I can as I always try to do.A thank you is not enough for your offer to help.. Not enough at all but I do thank you from the bottom of my heart..
Now for our news from the vet. I spoke to Sue our vet this morning and again the tears were flowing. Sue told me that she is convinced now that we are dealing with a double wammy and that the heart is a significant problem. They are getting fluids in but have to do it slowly so as not to cause further heart problems, they have started medication for the heart but have to be very careful so as not to push the kidneys into further renal failure but need to bring the rapid heart rate down. Sue said she thought there was a slight improvement in that Jasper is a little more alert and purring for them, he is to stay again tonight while they continue the treatment and then more blood tests tomorrow to check his kidney function. We are permitted to go late this afternoon to visit Jasper and they want us to take some of his favourite food in to temp him to eat on his own a little.We cant wait. The news of a double wammy was a real blow to us. We will give him every chance but wont let him suffer if it wont help. We just pray it will help.

Updates and tears....

Hello everyone, today has been a very emotional day for us. I dropped Jasper of this morning early for his heart scan.. I was then to go on to a course I had to do for a few hours were I worried myself silly. Barrie was waiting at home for the phone to ring with news. I rang home and Barrie said that Sue the vet had just rang to tell the results. The scan showed some thickening but not too bad, she then asked could she do more tests as they needed to find out what was making jasper so ill but she was conscious the costs were racking up. Barrie said to do what ever was needed. I came in to find that Sue had rang back five minutes before and to find Barrie in tears. My heart was by this time in my boots and I also was in tears. Sue said that Jasper's kidneys are not working. They have put him on a drip and he has to stay there. They will try to flush his kidneys through in the hope they will get him to feel better. There is no cure but if the drip and treatments work to make him feel better and eat then they can treat. I have told you many times that Barrie was not a cat person and he said today I never thought I would cry for a cat. He loves him and said I cant lose my mate. We are beside ourselves with worry. Please rev up the purr motors and the woofs and keep them coming as we so need the power of the paw.. My sweet gentle loving boy must get well and come home to us

Hello everyone. Just a very quick update to let you all know that we are so hopeful that tomorrows scan sheds some light and we can help jasper. We are still in the same situation and we are still getting some food in by syringe but not a morsel by himself. Thank you so much for your good wishes. Hello again everyone. At the vet again and we have all decided that we would continue to get down as much as we can by syringe over the weekend and to get the meds down with this. Jasper will then go in early on Monday morning to have a heart scan and whatever else is needed. There is no significant change and Jasper has not eaten anything voluntary for a week. He looks frail and his eyes are so sad. The normal cuddly boy that loves being held just does not want contact at the moment. We hate force feeding with the syringe but know we must. It breaks our hearts to see our lovely, loving boy like this and pray he picks up soon. The lovely Ann is going to cheer up the blog for us . Thank you Ann and thank you all our friends for being with us through this.. With love to all Carol xx

Hello everyone, A little more update today. I wish could say that things are much better but I cant. Barrie and I are getting some of the liquid food into Jasper but it is hard and we feel for him so because he really does not feel like us messing with him. I think though that he realises that we are trying to help him but he looks at us so sadly. We are syringing the liquid food into jasper and it is making a mess of his lovely fur. We got the meds into him by crushing and mixing with the liquid. Jasper is still making no attempt to feed himself and is so lethargic and frail looking. I cant tell you how worried we are. We will use the last of the liquid stuff and then in the morning try the canned medicinal food watered down by syringe. I am beginning to think that if it was an infection surely he would be picking up now. I hope I am wrong and that he turns the corner soon. Jasper is not even trying to clean his fur where it has spilled and that is not like him as he is usually so clean and hates anything on his fur.
Come on my little man turn that corner please.

Hi everyone, Firstly thank you so much for all the good wishes we really appreciate it. I have been back at the vet today and the news is that my temperature is down but I am still quite poorly. The vet is still going along with the infection theory at the moment. I didn't stay at the vet because at the moment the vet does not want to stress me any more than necessary but mum and dad have to try and syringe some liquid food into me or I will have to go on a drip. I got more antibiotics by injection and some to take orally. Mum and dad managed to get a couple small syringes of the liquid food into me and are going to keep trying every couple hours.
I think some of my fur friends mistook what I said yesterday because they thought I was constipated again. This is not the case, whatever it is knocked me completely off my feet but I am not blocked up. It came on really quickly and made me quite ill. Mum really thought I had suffered a stroke and the vet was thinking along those lines too until she took my temperature which was very high and would fit with the other symptoms for infection. I have not eaten for five days but the vet says the high temperature and infection would do that. I need to get lots of the liquid food into me and then build from there. Then when I am feeling better I am to get a heart Scan because they want to see whats happening with my heart, that will hopefully be next week sometime.
The irony is that I was better than I had been for a long Long time and was eating double what I normally ate, then this happens and undoes all the good that that did.
Keep those purrs and woofs coming please. Keep the paws crossed that it is infection and that it clears soon.

I am back but very mixed news..

Hello everyone, I am back but have very mixed news.
Mum told you that since I had the enema's I have been eating really well in fact the best for years and behaving like a kitten again. Mum and dad went off on Thursday and as they left I was eating my food. Tristan and Sue bean came Thursday night and I was fine, Friday I had eaten everything in my dish. On Saturday and Sunday I was hiding behind the sofa and would not eat or interact. They were hoping I was just moping for mum and dad and not ill. Mum and dad came home late Sunday night and could not see me. I was lying beside mum's foot stool and did not greet them or want to do anything. Mum knows that in the past if I have been a little off I have slept and then been a lot better. But today I was not getting up much at all and when I did was wobbly and very lethargic. I don't want loving or handling, so off to the vets I went. Sue the lady vet who is lovely was thinking the same as mum was worrying about which is a stroke as my heart was going very fast and I am not moving much. Then she took my temperature which was really high and said she was not as worried about a stroke as all the symptoms would fit an infection. I was given a shot of antibiotics and one of anti inflammatory. I need to go back in 24 hours which is Wednesday afternoon and they are hoping these have helped and that it is infection, if not then they will look further at my heart. Mum and dad are so hoping it is infection and that it clears quickly.

Mum and dad had a really great time in Rome and were going to show you pictures but will wait until I am better.

It is my dads birthday today 30th and I could not miss saying Happy Birthday dad. Mum and dad were going out for the day but now will stay at home with me.. Dad said I am more important..

Hello everyone.. I can tell you I am not amused.. Mum and dad are going away for four days tomorrow.. They will go to Rome and leave me here all alone. ( the beans are coming in to see me and feed me really ) I will be bored and have to do a lot of window watching I think.. Please think of me and maybe even pop by for a spot of house trashing... Te He that will show them.. Mum and dad are really looking forward to looking round Rome and seeing all the wonderful sights.

My birthday donation......

Hi everyone.. Well yesterday was special.. I had lots of friends visit and we partied till late. Mum and dad bought me a whole bag of prawns and would you believe I ate them all in three separate sittings. Now mum told everyone that she would be donating to a good cause for my birthday, we were deciding were it would go and a couple days ago a very dear friend to us all told us about wanting to help her feral family to be safe and to TNR them. This lady and her lovely husband have gone through so much with illness draining their resources, but yet our dear friend still tirelessly helps us all with our blogs and makes hundreds of pictures for us all for every event. I decided that my donation would go to help with this project and I hope it helps just a little. If you have not already guessed who it is it is our very own

Hello everyone.Mum and dad were to go to a 1940's night at their local in aid of help for hero's. Mum was afraid she would not be able to go but felt much better and off they went. They dressed in 1940's style and had great fun as well as helping to raise lots of money for help the hero's. Just take a look.

I got dragged into the pictures too.

The local pub where mum and dad go have had a few fund raisers for help for hero's during the year and this was the last one of the year. They think that maybe around £3000 has been raised . It is a wonderful cause and they will keep going I think. xxx

Today is our Armistice day and we remember our heroes lost . At the 11th hour on the 11th day and the 11th year we will have two minutes silence throughout the whole of the UK and we remember them.....
I wear my poppy with pride and remember them.....

The poppy is our symbol for remembrance and they are everywhere at the moment in honour of all our lost men and women.......... They gave their lives so we could live free..

Fields of poppies symbolic of the blood lost....

Across the world our friends also have special days to remember them...

In the USA our friends have their Veterans day and they remember them.......
In Canada they also have their Remembrance day and they remember them...

Wherever we live we must all never forget all the brave men and women who lost their lives and for all those that serve now to defend and protect us... we.... WILL REMEMBER THEM....

Silence is golden...Or not........

Mum coughed and coughed all night long and could not get words out in between coughing, her voice has now gone and her throat hurts a lot with all the coughing. Mum has had to resort to the doctor who said her larynx, bronchial tubes and pharynx are infected and have resulted in laryngitis and upper respiratory infection. Mum must take strong antibiotics and rest up especially her voice. ( not easy ) Mum cant go to work but by this morning knew that as she couldn't speak between coughing and no voice to speak with either but felt bad to let colleagues down. Mum felt bad for the doctor too because try as he might he couldn't look down mums throat without her coughing in his face. Poor doctor.

I will continue to help look after mum..

We may not get around to many friends today. For the past few days mum has had a nasty cold and cough. The cough is much worse and mum has almost lost her voice, she is trying to rest up today because starts nights tomorrow and without a voice and feeling rough that wont be good. So see you soon..

Hi everyone.. A little while ago mum was asked if she would like to try some food for me and to give her honest opinion. Now mum gets emails all the time asking us to use our blog to advertise etc and mum always says sorry but no. Well for some reason this time mum said OK we will try it and to go ahead and send some for us to try. Now as you probably know I am a very fussy eater. Here is our review.
The food is called Nutricat.. This is what they say:

The one I tried was Chicken. Mum did not hold out much hope because she has tried many dried foods before and I have turned my nose up at them. Well guess what I loved it and ate it all up.Mum was happy because there are all lots of nutrients and vitamins in to help keep me healthy. This has to be good.

I am joining in with everyone and wishing for world peace

I quietly think and hope....

The 4th of November is also a sad day for mum because its the day 3 years ago that she visited and found her mum had left for the bridge. There is never a day goes by that mum does not think of her mum and wish she was still here. It has also become very difficult in mums job because every time she goes in to a no response she worries she will see the same thing. This lovely graphic is what Ann at Zoolatry did for us on one anniversary and the one mum puts with flowers at the crematorium. Grandma and grandad are both on here so it remembers them both and shows us all together. Grandma and grandad were married 63 years when grandad died.

Also right on cue as they have done each year since she died grandma's cacti have flowered for her...

Hello everyone.. You know that mum has been megga busy and we have not even blogged for a couple days, well on Friday we had a surprise visit from great grandson bean Nicholas. Now I usually like the little beans and play with them, but ... When Nicholas bean came in mum had popped to the bakers and dad was in the yard and... Nicholas bean made a grab for me and when I moved away he grabbed my tail.. that was it... I wouldn't play with him at all and stuck to my dad like glue.. Here I am watching him from my window ledge.... But it got worse...

Hello everyone...Firstly mum wanted to say that since we lost the blog roll a few weeks ago she has been trying to use the google reader thingy for helping me comment on furrends blogs. We know that there were many more that we visited that we don't have now and quite a few woofie friends, so if we visited you and we are not now can you pop over and say so that we can add you. You see mum's memory is not as it was MOL and she forgets things sometimes. It was easy when she saw who had posted and could go visit but not so easy now and we would hate for kitties and woofies and beans to think we had forgotten them.

A couple weeks ago Mollie was a bridesmaid and Lilli the flower girl. They looked really lovely. Mum thought they were just gorgeous.

Hi everyone,firstly a huge sorry for not being here or visiting but mum was just manic at work, she got in from her last call at almost 4:00 this morning. Right enough of that. These pictures are from this afternoon and I am on my window ledge where I had been watching for my fans going by. can you tell I am feeling so much better..

Mum and dad are ecstatic because since I came back from the vet and got rid of all the fur from my insides I have been a different cat. am eating better than have for a long time and am more energetic. As I have said earlier mum said its better than winning money.. Mum says she is touching wood because she just hope it carries on because its wonderful. I am going to get the katalax once a week and be hope this helps me stay this good. Mum says she thinks maybe this has been sort of building for a long time as I have had a tiny appetite for quite a while and also not really myself.

Now the next update.. Liam had an eye operation a few days ago. They are waiting for the trauma of this to settle to see the full results but as of yet there is just very blurry fog showing there.There will they think have to be at least one more operation and maybe more but for now its a start..

Hello everyone I wanted to show you what they did last week. can you see my tummy .. Its all shaved. Mum said it had to be because it was all knotty and it will be better for me. Now its shaved it will be easier to keep short and also less fur to ingest. Dad says he is going to make my fur a little shorter all over even though it is not knotty because it will also stop me taking in too much fur when I groom.
On a better note.. I ate half a sachet of food and I drank some cat milk.. Mum said this is fabulous and please keep it up Jasper...

I'm back and sheesh what a day......

Hello everyone.. well I am back from the vet and what a day I have had. they stole three lots of bloods from my neck because the bloods were showing raised levels of Creatinine which can mean kidney disease. They did two more test which showed this is not the case with me. They decided that they would try without the anaesthetic and would you believe they gave me three enema's. When mum phoned to see if I was ready to come home they said that although I had not done a poo they could feel that the hard blockage now felt soft. They thought maybe I was shy of going while at the vet and wanted me to go home and see if I would go in my own surroundings. They said that if I didn't go then it was back tomorrow. Mum said how on earth was I keeping all that enema inside. The vet said I think you should open the window and stand well back when you get home. I got home and went straight to my tray but when dad looked had just done a pee. a few minutes later I went back down and was down there a while. dad went to look and shouted to mum come and see.. ( all this activity around my tray ) I had been and yes there was quite a bit and yes the vet was right.. Open that window... Mum and dad were jumping for joy.. Mum said it was better than winning money. Strange beings they are...
The vet said to tempt me with whatever I will eat and mum and dad said oh we will and we do.. When mum said last time we did the same he asked how long ago and when we said April he was concerned that there had been two bouts of not eating in 6 months and we need to watch this. Hopefully I will pick up now and mum and dad are going to make sure I have catalax every week just in case.
I am due my vaccinations next month so my heart will be checked as well.
I was just sick a few Min's ago but it was liquid and dad said that if he had been through all I had today he would be feeling sick too. I am resting now with dad..
Thank you so much all my friends for the prayers, purrs. woofs and crossed paws. Please keep them going that today will have helped..
Mum will catch up with visits tomorrow..She is tired and stressed and will relax now a little..

I am shouting here because the medicine didn't work and I have a blockage. I go in the morning and have an anaesthetic so they can clear it. I have been really lethargic and have not used my tray at all. They need to do it in the morning before it gets worse so because mum has to go in work tonight for a night shift dad is taking me in the morning. The other worrying thing is that when the vet examined me she said I have a heart murmur.Mum was upset at this but the vet said they will keep an eye on it. I hope tomorrow clears it and that I will feel better soon. On top of this I am still sneezing.

Hello everyone.. Today I have been to the dreaded vet. I saw the boss man today and he was very nice.... I have a bad cold and he said that as what I am sneezing is clear it will hopefully work its way out and antibiotics wont help that. I did get an injection though of anti inflammatory. The worst thing is that when he felt at my tummy he said I have solid stuff in my intestines. I haven't past any poo for two days so it looks like the fur has got stuck there. I was going to be booked in for anaesthetic tomorrow to have an enema but mum asked could they not move it without because she is worried about another anaesthetic. The vet man gave me some stuff to take and I have another appointment tomorrow.Mum is watching my litter tray and hoping I go, if not then I have to go in. I was doing so well and had put on lots of weight and then the nasty fur does this. Hopefully it can be sorted asap. Keep those purrs coming please .. Hugs GJ xx

Hello everyone. Mum has been on silly nights and not getting a lot of time to post or comment but we wanted to just give you a little update. Yesterday I ate a little chicken and some salmon paste. Today nothing. I have though been sneezing quite a bit. It looks like its going to have to be the vet tomorrow. Paws crossed for me please. Hugs and love to all GJ xxx

Today mum had just sat down to use her laptop.. I wanted some hugs and loving so got up to get me some. Mum gave me sweet talk, love and..... ear skritches.. Made me feel so much better. Mum said to dad to just look at my expression and he came and took these pictures.... I am still not tip top at all and have only eaten a tiny amount but mum really thinks that it is fur that is causing the problem because I am shedding an awful lot. Also because I was sick so much with lots of fur that could have made my throat sore. They have been and got lots of goodies to tempt me and put the sticky stuff all on my paw so I have to lick it off. Fingers crossed it all helps..

Hello everyone.. I wanted to let you know how I was. I was sick last night again but only a little. Mum thinks it must be fur that has upset me as I have been moulting such a lot. I usually get a hair cut once a year but because I was not well when the vet took all my fur off Mum didn't want to stress me too much. I will let mum and dad brush me on top but wont let them get near my tummy and I get awful knots. I had lots underneath and they were not nice when I moved. Dad was looking for a good clipper to try himself but didn't know which would work the best .Dad borrowed clippers from our niece who clips woofies and with mum's help took all the knots away. It is quite short because the knots were close to the skin but now they are off it will be easier to do another time and leave longer. Dad has been brushing me to try and keep my fur down but I do have a lot and there was a lot of fur when I was sick. Thank you to friends that suggested the sticky stuff to put on my paws. Mum got some today to try. Mum bought me some prawns today and I have eaten just a few so far. Mum and dad are worried that I wont eat for ages like before and are trying hard to not let that happen. I am a little less lethargic so fingers crossed that it was fur and I will feel much better soon. Its the vet otherwise..

I am not well.....

For the past three days I have not been feeling very well. I yacked up furballs and then was sick. I wanted to just sleep and did just that for a whole day. not even the flashy box woke me up. Mum and dad were worried but thought they would let me sleep and that is sometimes best. I was still lethargic yesterday and had not eaten. mum and dad were worried that I would get like before and stop eating. They knew that if I had been sick and it was furballs then my tummy would maybe be sore. Last night dad got the spoon out and fed me some from that. I ate a little and seemed a bit more alert. When they got up I had eaten a little on my own and was looking brighter but not yet myself. They are talking about the vet person if I don't pick up but don't want to stress me so will see how I go on today. Those darn furballs do cause problems. I might add that I had put back on most of my weight and that last week was eating better than I had for a long time, now this sheesh. Hugs to all GJ xxxx

I am honouring today, Grandad who lost his fight. Mum a survivor for many years. Our nephew Steven who lost his fight at only 5 years old. Cousins who lost their fight far too early in their 50's. Vic our friend who is fighting now. Jan our friend who is a survivor too.Our dear friend Jackie who this year has fought that fight and won. Our many fur friends who are fighting or who have lost the fight and there have been many this past year. Just this week a family friend Mick who has lost his fight after 10 weeks in hospital.

Hello everyone.. Mum was checking some of our friends blogs and saw that today there are a lot of posts on thankful Thursday. Now mum gets mixed up with the regular days for posting so rarely do we get it right. Mum got to thinking that we are so lucky and that there are so many that are not. Mum has had a silly down head on that she gets sometimes and every small hill feels like a mountain. A lot of you will know that feeling and that it is so hard to shake it off.But mum feels so bad about that when there is so much sadness around. we wanted to say that we have so much to be thankful for. warm loving home, beautiful children and grand children and great grandchildren. A job when so many have none and even though the health has not been good its not too bad now. Plus we have all our blog friends.. So mum wanted to say yes it is thankful Thursday and thankful everyday.... Hugs GJ xxx

Hello everyone today I am joining a lot of friends and heading of to Gracie's place because there is a surprise birthday party going on for Opus who is 16 today.......

I hear tell that there will be lots of fun and goodies to be had so have a mosey along and join everyone there.

Today is also our oldest grandson bean Carl's birthday and he is 23 today... Mum remembers the day he was born as though it was yesterday.. She was so proud she wanted to shout it from the rooftops.. Update on Liam....

Hello everyone.. We thought we would give you an update on Liam.. You will remember how he was the last time we updated. Still having lots of physio and trying to get back his movement. Well now Liam is much much better although he still has no sight in his right eye. There is though a glimmer there as the doctors have now decided that it is viable to operate and hopefully give Liam some sight back. They are now hopeful that it can happen and he is having an assessment for surgery on Thursday. We hope this will show that they will be able to operate and restore some sight. You may remember that Liam was due to go to university which we thought would not be possible.. That now is happening and this week Liam moved into student accommodation and will start in a very short while. all this when just a few months ago it was touch and go if he would survive.

Hello everyone.. I just thought I would show you what mum and dad got up to when they were not here...

Even this.... But mum told me that this kitty used to be a street kitty and now thanks to some kind people she has a warm forever home and gets plenty of food. That made mum happy and the kitty loved attention and whats more got it from everyone.. So I forgave them.. Its a happy ending...

Hello my friends.. Well mum has been really stressing about my blog as we have been getting lots of messages to say that we had malaware and they couldn't visit us.. I think that mum was really unhappy about it as she is already unhappy stressed. Now Huffle's mum has fixed the problem for us. It seems that a lot of blog friends have been having problems too. We say a huge thank you to Huffle's mummy for helping us.. We don't have a blog roll now to check who is posting but Huffle's mum is going to do us a list, so please bear with us and we will get back to visiting you all as we miss our friends..

Now on a lighter note.. Mum went to visit the great grandson beans yesterday because as you know Leon bean had his second birthday. Seeing the little beans was lovely...

Leon bean loves Zigzilla's ( mum didn't know what they were at first lol ) He got a Zingzilla guitar and quilt cover and his shrieks of delight were such a delight to hear..

Over the last few days my furrends have been letting me know that my blog has had problems, it seems it has been saying that it could have malaware or something like that. Mum has ran scans galore which all said all was secure. She deleted all passwords and made new, she checked again and again her antivirus which all said all was well. Mum deleted all her cache etc several times and followed all advise from others. Several times when mum tried to leave comments for others it said try to renter your password and try again. Were these blogs the problem. Well after days of trying everything and worrying a furrend said that all seemed to be well now. Mum says she hopes so.. I say... Well look at my photo ...

We have been watching the weather for our friends in the US and are worried for you all in the path of Irene, it is looking like it will hit and I so pray that you Will all get to safety. I pray it will not be as bad as it seems.

Mum now wants to tell you some really nice news. Our Mollie bean plays rugby for the school and they were through to Wembley. Today they played the final and they won. Here is the cup.. We are so proud of our Mollie bean. what a star. The whole team did well.. Congratulations year 8 girls....

Quite a few things not so good lately so this was lovely and cheered mum up ....

My neighbours shed roof is where all the birdies hang out. they tweet and squawk and torment me. Mum laughs and says I wont catch one because I make too much noise when I jump on the fences to get to them... So I decided if I went up there and kept very quiet and very still then maybe just maybe...

Mum came home from nights and after a short sleep her and dad managed to take Mollie and Lilli bean to a local maze, called farmer Copley's. They had tried twice before and the weather thwarted them so they thought strike while they can. It was good and mum got some nice photo's, she will show you a couple tomorrow.

Mum will try and visit a few friends tonight and hopefully tomorrow when less tired. We do appreciate that you understand..
