A Barrie update.

I took Barrie yesterday and left him on the ward at 6:45 yesterday morning. I expected to hear around lunch time but at 1:30 no news. I called and was told he had just gone to theatre and to expect a call at tea time. 7:00 came and still no call. I called them and was told that they had decided to do the op under a spinal block and that Barrie still had no feeling back so could not come home. I went through and visited. They had to wait until he had got feeling back. I can tell you it was a very long day of waiting. I picked him up this morning, lots of pain but he can now recover at home. Its a different world nowadays after surgery. They send you home full of stitches and clips and in lots of pain and the nurse at the doctor's surgery takes them out on the 6th of November. I can though now look after him and he can recover in his own home. No driving for 6/8 weeks does not go down well with him though. Thank you all so much for the lovely comments. We so appreciate them.
Taken last night when I visited.

The little cat that visited ( Suki ) started coming in quite often to see us and would wait for me coming home from work to say hello. I think she liked the quiet of our yard as a small child and lots of animals and mayhem next door. One Saturday morning three weeks ago the family upped and moved and took Suki with them. I miss her little face.

Quite a week...

Its been quite a mixed week and half with so much going on. We did go to our last 40's weekend at Pickering and the weather was very good to us. we had a great weekend.A few photo's below.

I got not one but two new hats while there and this is one of them.

This gorgeous little dog was so tired after walking around with his owners all day. He got lots of attention and when I got a cuddle he fell asleep on me.
The gentleman to my right is a veteran and such a lovely old man.

Mike takes photo's of all the events and has his camera disguised as an old one.

                               On board the steam train..

This is the other new hat and outfit..

The nights in the pub are always fun..

This little one watched the whole parade from his window and was so cute..

                                                                More fun pictures..
This little one is always at this event with his parents raising money for help for heroes.

                                                 Another night of laughter.

This cheeky one also get lots of attention and takes it all in his stride..

We enjoyed the weekend very much.. Then back to reality.
Back to work and flipping shifts from hell to say the least.
Barrie has been having mega problems and pain from what we suspected was a hernia. We went to the hospital on the Wednesday and the following day were given a date for surgery just a week later. He goes in to hospital in the morning for the surgery. Wednesday was quite a day, dentist in the morning which cost more than we thought. Later we picked up injections from the hospital so I can give them to him every day. ( Barrie is on Warfarin and has to come of for the op and have daily injections instead to keep his blood thin ) we came out of the hospital and the car stopped and no life at all. To cut a long story short, a tow to the garage and new computer parts and a few hundred pounds later we have the car back. Quite a day, followed by more shifts from hell. Making me think seriously about retiring and soon.
Well sorry for the rambling. Keep Barrie in your thoughts for tomorrows surgery.
                       See you soon
