A special visit.....

Well what a week. I have been on nights and between going out in torrential rain every night its been a busy few shifts. was supposed to be off on Wednesday night but because of illness at work agreed to do the on call. It turned out I didn't know which phone to answer first as my granddaughter Rosie went into labour. Great Grandson Layton Brian was born at 05:02 on Thursday morning weighing 8lb 4oz. Barrie and I drove down to see him yesterday afternoon. Excuse the huge bags under my eyes lol but I had maybe one hours sleep if was lucky. Worth the drive to see him. He and all my other greats are gorgeous.

Rosie and Scott and new arrival plus Alivia. Rosie looking remarkably good to say she only gave birth a few hours before.
Four of my greats, Alivia didn't want to pose.

Two youngest greats. Alexis  and Layton

                                     Two grands and two greats

                                        All five on this one.
Scott with his mum looking on..

This and that.....

It seems forever since I have posted and not intentional. We came back from Vegas on the Tuesday and then we were away for our 1st 40's weekend from the Friday. Of course it was back to work on Monday and it has been very hectic as we are so short staffed with sickness and holidays. Anyhow I am here now and hope I haven't missed too much. Here are some photo's from our weekend away. As always we had a great time and the weather shone for us too.

Every year for the 40's weekend here the people come in their droves. This year with the sunshine was no exception..
This year it was a Dakota for the fly past.

The lady in the red cape is wearing the uniform from the QARANC which was my regiment. I am in the process of trying to get the whole outfit together. They are though quite scarce.

Of course I found some woofies. This one was so friendly and loved a fuss..

Our friends with Coco and Nugget.

Our friend came for the day to have a look at the event and loved it. I think she will be back..
Of course we are reminded what the events are about and they honour our services from the war. In the church was a very poignant display..
A letter from a serviceman to his friends mum. Just after he wrote this he himself was killed in action.

I could not resist taking this lady. She was enjoying the sun on her face and sat with her eyes closed for ages just soaking it up. I loved how she was dressed and I think she could do it all the time.
This little evacuee was adorable with her little dog.
I loved his little doggy gas mask.

Of course I found a kitty or rather she found me and shared the butter and cream from my scone..

Hope you liked a little look at our 40's weekend.
take care everyone. Hugs Carol x
